By what date do I need to sit for my last section to avoid losing credit?

    Hi fellow Ninja’s,

Here is my dilemma: I have passed all but one section (REG) and have until November 30, 2017 to pass REG before losing credit for FAR. I am taking the exams under the Michigan jurisdiction where all four exams must be passed within 18 months.

Assuming I miss out on taking REG in Q3 due to the 10-week hold on score release (took REG yesterday), and I can only take REG again in October/November of Q4, what is the last day that I can take the exam? I have heard that it is based on the date your score is released (December for Q4). I have also heard that you will receive conditional credit as long as you sit prior to the expiration date (November 30, in my case).

Thanks guys and best of luck!!

    AUD - 83
    BEC - 75
    FAR - 78
    REG - 83

I think you can take again in Q3 as long as the scores come out. CT is granting extension of time. Check to see if Michigan has the same

I found the following: “In June and July, NASBA will notify state boards of all candidates testing in Q2 2017 with existing conditional credit who will be impacted by the score hold. The state boards will consider extending a candidate's conditional credit. Extensions of credit are handled on an individual case-by-case basis. State boards will notify candidates if an extension is granted.”

Begs the question – what differs one case from another??

My state board is playing games. I don't want to lose Auditing, but I'm not feeling optimistic about my extension.

April 11 – Requested my credit extension
April 12 – “Send a request in writing 30 days before expiration date. Each extension will be handled on a case-by-case basis.”
May 9 – Formal Request sent
May 15 – “Once you have sat, please re-submit request” LOL
May 30 – Sat for FAR
    May 31 – 3rd request sent

    Their response is pending…

Update: I spoke with NASBA's customer service. They confirmed that the last day to take an exam is the date of expiration. In addition, I was told that Q3 has been extended until September 10, 2017.

    Hey @mtaylo

Just out of utter curiosity, what was your argument for an extension since technically this was your last quarter before your AUD expired anyway? Like, even without this BS 10 weeks ( 🙁 ) it would be expired.
