Hi guys this my fist post here

I have approved to sit for the CPA exam in CA, and I will sit for FAR and BEC in august 2010.

my problem is now I want to select the other two exams so I can sit for them in the next window.

So I have created the ($100 Fee for First-time Applicants) instead of the ($50 Fee for Repeat Applicants ) is this okay?? and is it going to affect my current application.

All I want to do is to pay for the other two exams that I didn’t pay for.

    I’m very concern

Please reply me as soon as possible.

    Hi CPA87,

So from what I gather you've already paid for the two sections you'll be taking in August? I believe you just have to do the $50, since you already have an application on file. You only have to pay the $100 with your initial application. You may want to check the CA Board of Accountancy website or call them up. They are pretty helpful. Every time you retake a section you have to pay $50, my understanding was since your application is on file you can continue to pay $50. Hope this helps and good luck studying.

Keep in mind CA is super slow at approving applications… they'll take your money but not approve your application. Just sent mine last weekend, they cashed my check in a few days, but haven't been notified that I've been approved to select sections yet… ahh!! I'd recommend sending your payment as soon as possible, especially if you're planning to sit in August.

I have already been approved to sit for exams in august and I have scheduled with the prometric and everything.

and i have already sent the application with a check of $100 for the second time instead of $50. I have send them emails but they didn't reply

I hope that they will accept this instead of the $50 and approve, so I can have new NTS.

    rejeffy,

Make it 6 weeks nowadays. I'm entering the 6th week on Monday.

    CPA87,

Send it asap! Now they don't give preference to re-applications, yours will just be at the bottom of the pile. It will take 6 weeks.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

I have sent my application for license to CA BOA in early June. Since then – no word from them. I sent them several emails – no response. The check was cleared two days after the application was sent. Not sure if it makes sense to call them – if they do not respond by email, what is the chance that they will pick up the phone? I also read somewhere on their website that “due to confidentiality” they do not provide information by email or on the phone – am I suppose to send them letters and postcards? I think this “confidentiality” is a great excuse for them not to work.

    We're in the same boat.

I sent my application in March, it was deficient, took 10 accounting credits at a local college in LA and sent them the last transcript in early June, they received them on June 14. No words since then. I called them several times. They do pick up the phone occasionally.

They told me it takes 4-6 weeks nowadays. Tomorrow I will enter my 6th week of wait. After that, you still have to receive the payment coupon from NASBA, pay the fees and then receive the NTS (so another week will pass). I lost 3 weeks of window so far.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88

    Anybody got recently approved?

If so, when was your application (or transcript) received?

I'm getting quite desperate and frustrated here….

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

    Just got approved.

I selected the exam parts (all four of them).

Now I have to wait for them to send my selection to NASBA, get the payment coupon, pay, and then get the NTS.

Hopefully, this will be fast since it's only electronic transmittal of data.

Hopefully, sometimes next week I'll be able to sit for FAR….

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

I like to add 2 more sections and I was wondering how i can submit a new application to the Board.

Will i get a new Remittance Number or can i send $ 50 payment with my old Remittance Number?

Can I print my old remittance form from my email box and send it?

Good luck to everyone. I am going to take FAR & BEC this october.

    Already received my NTS.

One and a half month to update my application with a new transcript, 18 hours to process my ATT, payment, and NTS.

Mmmm, I'll take NASBA over the CBA….

    Hello,
I have made my application and sent the check of $100 being first time applicant. The status on CBA site was updated to ‘remittance payment recieved' on June 13. It's already 1.5 weeks and no response from them. I m getting worried now. Can anyone guide me regarding how much time it takes? Any procedures for follow ups?
P.s- I wish to take my exam in end of july around 27th.
