    Hi,

I am an international student, and possibility is high that my H1B visa
will get rejected and I have to leave the U.S without getting licensed for
    CPA exams that I took.

I was wondering, if I relocate to Canada, does work experience there count towards
    1 year requirement of AICPA?
AICPA website says something about mutual recognition agreement of
AICPA, New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountant,
Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and etc.

    Thank you

    😀

Most states that I know of require that you obtain experience under the supervision of a U.S.-licensed CPA. While it is possible that some agreements indeed allow for a Canadian chartered accountant to sign off on the experience, I would take it directly with the board of the state where you're planning to get licensed.

What makes you think getting a work permit in Canada will be easier than an H1B (or are you from Canada originally)? Just curious.

    AUD - passed
    REG - passed
    BEC - passed
    FAR - passed

I am an international student as well and I know many other international CPA candidates.

It depends on the state you are in. The requirement isn't usually that the work must be done in the US, it is that it must be done under a US CPA, however there are many states which allow your work done wherever to be verified by a US CPA. Try states like Washington or look at this website:
    https://www.thiswaytocpa.com/exam-licensure/state-requirements/

If it doesn't specify that you have to work under a US CPA for a particular state then you may not need to, however you can always call your state board to find out.
