    Hello everyone,

First i like to tell you I’m using becker the newer version review. I’m preparing for BEC and being disappointed by the MCQ that most ask for concept not really covered well in the book. Anyone feel it?

    Also,

1/ do i have to memorize the ratios equations or just learn how to use them as i seen some says in the exam they are provided already?

2/ can someone explain how to calculate the effective interest rate when bonds issue for a discount and there is othere fees please?

3/ can i set a single one form and use for all of the three written essays?

Your help is highly much appreciated.

    Thanks,

I took BEC 7/10, so still waiting for scores to release. I have input on your first question and I would definitely memorize the formulas for the ratios, the majority of them are given but only for the TBS, not MCQ so if you get a MCQ on them you will still need to know them. Also make sure you conceptually know what the ratios are.

    1. Finally passed BEC last year with 86. There is a thread on this forum with all the ratios. I made flash cards for everyone and memorized them the night before for short term memory! failed with a 71 and 74 for BEC before – this helped alot!

    Golfball,

Are you saying that memorizing formulas the night before got you over the “hump” to pass ? I ask b/c I got 2 74's in a row and trying to do everything in my power to pass. What else differently did you do to go up 12 points?

Just started studying for BEC and 100% agree with your first point. I've taken all three of the other exams and if you read and watched lectures you could easily do MC but I've seen many MC for BEC that aren't covered in the book with paragraph long explanations.

@Nighoghosian i watched the lectures and read the book and when I started doing MC i barely got 50-60% correct from the first time as completely they are not covered.
