I am in the government sector working as an auditor. I am considering going for the CFE certification but was wondering what other certification you would recommend. I am not looking to get back into the private sector so I don’t think a CPA would be beneficial or cost effective.

    Thanks for the advice.

Depends on what you want to do in the future. Get certs only that you'll believe will be valuable in the future or align in your goals.

I would say the CPA is probably the most recognized and respected credential to get for an accountant, but I can see your reluctance to get it if you just intend to stay working for the government.
