I recently passed the last portion of the CPA and I am in the process of obtaining my license. I plan to take the rest of the year off without anymore studying. I have contemplated obtaining another type of certification next year, so I wanted to see if anyone has obtained their CFE and if it is worth it?

Since accounting industry is oversaturated, some tech savvy CPA arm their career with IT licenses.

Finally, someone else who AGREES that the CPA industry is incredibly OVER-SATURATED. Yea, I would arm yourself with some kind of IT certification. CFE is pretty easy as well, just a lot of information. If you wanted to do audit for a bit, the CFE might be worthwhile though.

I'm using the book they sell on the ACFE's website. There's a lot of material in the book, but a lot of it is duplicated several times in the book.

The CFE exam is way easier than the CPA exam. That said, I didn't take it seriously, tried to take all 4 sections in one sitting and ended up failing one of them.

Career-wise, ask me again in a few months.

I passed the CPA a little over a year ago and my CFE study stuff just came in. I ordered the study material from the ACFE website, it seems like a lot of material to get through! wombataholic – it's not a hard at the CPA? How long did you study? Do you think I can pass all 4 parts by the new year?

I read through the book in about a month, give or take a few days. And that's all I did to study.

It's not even in the same league as the CPA Exam. If you can pass the CPA exam, you can pass the CFE exam in 3 months. You probably won't even need that much.

I finished the cpa exam last year and just started the cfe. I purchased the prep course on the acfe website. I printed the whole fraud manual and I'm skimming it over and doing to questions. A lot of things overlap and it's definitely not as hard as the cpa exam. I'm planning on taking it in December and will return to post my results.

I was reading that we need to submit an exam affidavit for each section of this exam. Is this something that gets uploaded after each test or all at one when we submit the exam? Thank you!!

As you can see from my sig, I passed the CFE exam.

@Determined – Each time you submit the exam you'll need to upload a new signed affadavit. For example: As mentioned earlier in this thread, I took all 4 sections in 1 sitting. I had to send in one affadavit for this attempt. When I retook the section I failed, I had to submit a second signed affadavit.

Correct. You'll take each section, then hit submit. After that, get your affidavit signed and send it in. In the event you need to retake a section, you'll retake the section(s) and hit submit, then get another affidavit signed and submitted.
