Changes to Law Class Requirements

I was just reviewing the requirements on the Florida Board of Accountancy website and came across this:

“Effective July 11, 2016, the business law requirement to sit for the exam and to pursue licensure has been reduced. You are now only required to complete three (3) semester hours or four (4) quarter hours of business law with coverage of contracts, torts, and UCC.”

Does anyone have any additional information about this? I have 6 credits of business law. The original 3 required for an accounting degree and the 3 that as far as I remember were required in order to even sit for the exam in the past. I’m wondering now if I can use these 3 additional credits as “upper level” accounting credits? If so, I may be able to get by with just one additional class of 3 credits to get licensed. Am I mistaken that in FL the requirement used to be 15 credit hours of upper level accounting courses? Right now its saying 12 hours of upper level accounting is required.
