Anyone has these certs or thinking about them after CPA? I heard that CIA is very similar to AUD section of CPA. Just wondering your guys’ thoughts about it or if anyone has experience with them even better.

LOL there are lot of certifications nowadays, I wonder why we still go to college. I think CPA is more than enough, just get that work experience too.

I met someone who had CISA, CIA and CPA and recommended all of them since he said each of those group of letters added significant $$$ to his salary.. He worked as a director of IT audit so i'm assuming the hype of cets helped :-))

    Hello,

CIA and CISA is good to have if you want to go into Internal Audit or IT Internal Audit of company (if you want to get into Director level above). CIA and CISA is helpful in consulting practice as well (Risk Advisory).

    Hope this helps.

I research many certifications after passing CPA exam but I think we should go for the one that contributes to the job we have or want to do in the future, not go for the ones that everyone got or had. Also, most certs require experience in their own field, so taking certs without finding or having jobs in those fields is waste of money and time. Good luck on your CPA journey thou! :]

    Hi everyone,

I have all 3 certs and so far it has helped me in my career within internal audit. Salary wise it has increased my salary since leaving the big 4 by a little over 30k.

Thats impressive.. but i'm sure your B4 experience counted for some of that increase.. I'd definitely go for CIA.. CISA is more specific and needs experience which i feel like harder to get unless you work in IT audit and then get certified. I might be wrong though.
