As background, I am a very old US CPA candidate. For all those years, I passed: (Blaw(BEC)-1999; AUD-2008/2017Q3 & REG-2009.
As a Canadian resident, my CPA exams aren't so important for a very long time. I cross the border at least every once a year or every 18 months, just to keep my CPA candidate status active.
Since I lost my credits for AUD & REG in 2010, I only been trying to do one section (FAR) until 2015, got me a 63% in Q2 2015. All those years, I only used my old 2014 FDF Becker/Wiley materials, and pre-2008 textbooks. Never really had anything to show for. That's when I decided to get into the Ninja products in 2015.
At first, I was hesitant to use Ninja for the majority of my review. Maybe only used 25% of it, because I was always running out of time. I took 2 sets of 4 sections in 2017 Q1 (NTS expiring) & Q3, as experimentation of the new format, with hardly any review preparation.
So, basically, in the last 2 years I have been steady about getting my US CPA. I was rewarded for the second time, I passed AUD in Q3. I would say, I couldn't have done it without any help from newer Ninja notes.
For 2017 Q4, I am writing FAR/BEC/REG. I know it's insane, but as Canadian resident, I have to take all of them, racing for the 18 months threshold period, again. This time, I am very serious. So serious enough, that I took a full 2 months just studying, spending 10-12 hours a day. I don't stop until my hands start hurting from doing notes.
Since the exam scores comes from 50% MCQs & 50% SIMs, I allocated the months of my review:
1st month: Ninja Plus videos, Ninja Notes, Ninja Book, Ninja audio, and old/new AICPA newly released MCQs (2005-2016), about 600+ MCQs per section & doing notes at the same time. Plus, mock exams every weekend, mostly number problems.
2nd month: Just ALL Ninja MCQs/SIMs as for my Final review.
It's insane. But I will be much prepared the next time I step into Prometric in less than 6 weeks.
If I pass all 4 sections, I would definitely give majority of the credit to Ninja & some from my old/new AICPA newly released MCQs notes.
