    Hey guys,

I just bought Ninja MCQs last week to complement my Becker material for my FAR retake. I plan on taking the exam in the last week of Feb and was planning on getting through the textbook/notes from Becker in the next 2 weeks. I have attempted the Becker MCQ’s for my first attempt but never really went back for round 2 before my first attempt. Given the time for the exam, how should I pound the MCQs i.e. should I try to do just Ninja MCQ or go back to Becker and rework all of them? I don’t know if I will be able to do both. I initially planned on doing just Ninja but some people on the forum said they were able to get by just fine by working through Becker MCQ twice. It is my last attempt before BEC expires so I would really like to make this count. I work full-time and from past experience, I am able to do 40-50 MCQs in FAR per day.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 83
    REG - 78
    Ethics - 97

I took FAR for the third time in September, and I just hit the Ninja MCQs instead of reading a book or watching videos. According to the software I had around 45 hours in the test bank alone. Once I saw where I had weak areas, I would go and read the book on that topic or watch the videos, and then go back and hit the questions some more.

So all that to say, either way would be fine. I think that since you've already done the Becker questions and you've paid for the Ninja ones, maybe just focus on the Ninja questions this time around. If you have extra time, then you can go back to the Becker questions towards the end.

    AUD - 85
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 82
    REG - 78
    Ethics - 95
    Licensed in IL & MO

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

    @Jennifer-your experience gives me hope!

@ShruteBeet-For all my other sections I would get through Becker testbank as part of learning the materials, then hit Ninja during review-my approach for other 3 sections was-first, do all new questions, then do missed since last time seen, then do trouble ones. I do them section by section. All the while doing Becker Progress Tests. I think that my inability to get through the Ninja testbank like I normally did contributed to my FAR fail in November. I simply ran out of time. For AUD and REG I also did all of Ninja SIMS. For AUD they helped, for REG I thought they were a waste of time. I did none of them for FAR, and think that I should have. So I plan on going through the Ninja testbank to flush out weak areas, all the while reviewing the Becker textbook, making notes and seeing if I need to make new flashcards for any areas. Then I plan on doing SIMS in Becker and SIMS in Ninja, while working the Ninja testbank. I hope this translates into a pass…. 🙁

Jennifer and Anyatver: thanks for your suggestions.

I've been through FAR with Becker once before the 2017 changes, and once after. As mentioned in other threads, I think I was just “jumping through the hoops” instead of genuinely studying. So now I'm currently using the Ninja MCQ in assessment mode (getting very different results from my FAR score analysis…but I think I know about the SIM that messed me up). Once I get through that, I'll be digging into specific areas, rewriting notes.

I'll need to start giving SIMS some attention soon…I'm in the position that I need to work through everything available!

One question: do others re-write notes? Of course it's helpful for some, I guess I'm wondering if others re-write cover-to-cover or focus on specific sections?

@PianoCPA-I have never re-written them…I cannot imagine it being beneficial to me, but I know plenty of people who swear by that approach…..
