Now, I know this type of testing in not at all like college, but I always was able to gain confidence with note cards. I would review the material and items that I did not understand I would memorized through note cards. Well, I tried this with both of my attempts of FAR, as well as my first attempt for AUD. As you can see, it didn’t work. So, I have not do this within my study sessions for my AUD retake.

My question to everyone is: How can you gain the confidence that was received when you were able to “know” all the note cards?? Or should I go back to this method, just for confidence.

I honestly hate the number 67..... officially the worst number ever. Ugh, but 73 feels so much worse.

    AUD -  67 ; 73 - retake August.

    BEC - 69

    FAR - 63, 67, Retake TBD

    REG -  eventually 🙂

Just memorizing is not going to help you. Especially if that is what you did the last time and it didnt not work. It makes no sense to repeat the same thing. You have to actually understand how to apply the information that you are memorizing because they will ask you about a concept in different ways. I would rather be comfortable knowing that I understand the concepts that have a false sense of confidence. If you memorize it and can explain it to someone who knows nothing about the subject and get them to understand it then you are good.

    Good Luck!

I know what you mean. TRUST ME – I learned from that mistake. I am not incorporating that into my study habits this time with AUD. I just need a sense of confidence walking into the exam. I am trending 100% (which I know is not a great indictor) in Ninja, so I switched back to Wiley. Currently I am trending about 87%.

Currently, I went back through all of the Wiley material and took diagnostic test. ANY area that I answered incorrectly, I reread the chapter and wrote notes. I think overall this is working much better. I am able to get the “light bulb” moment, now. Although, I still don’t feel confident.

What should I do to gain this? A practice exam?

Thank you for the luck. I am hoping to pass this time around.

Do you use beckers? For my retake I took beckers final 1&2 prior to taking the actual. I scored 80 and 71 on exam 1&2 respectively. Then I drilled on the topics I got wrong from the practice exam. Reading and doing mcqs for that section. I am waiting for my score release on the 7th. Hope I passed!

I am a little impartial when it comes to practice exams because if you do not do well then that will kill your confidence. I think feeling at least prepared is more than enough to give you confidence. You also have to believe in yourself. You have done everything you can possibly do and are working hard from now till exam day.

Everyone is different. You can look at the practice exams as something to help you narrow down your weak areas and not be hung up on the score you get. Then work on those areas and take a second practice exam and see how you do.

    @ Roggercpa

I have Wiley and Ninja. I think you are right though. I have off the week before the exam, so I am going to be working at this full-time with maybe a few overtime hours. I think I should take the practice exam to gauge my timing, as well as get to know my weaker areas. I will complete that this weekend and go into the week of review with that knowledge. I don't know if I will do another exam, since it will be a bit close to my actual exam, but we shall see.

    Thank you for everyone's help.

Is there any tips for this exam. I know to leave about 2 hours for the SIMs are use the AL. I am working on getting JE down from adjustments or common entries for reviewing documentation and transaction cycles. Also, getting the reports down and any key points of communication between the auditor and those with governance.

    Anything else based on experience?
