Considering a switch to audit from Tax

    Hi everyone,

I am waiting on that final score and in my newfound free time I have started kicking around the idea of a career change. I currently work in tax at the staff level and have been with my firm for over 2 years (part of this time was internships). I am realizing tax is not the profession I would like to pursue any longer. My double major was in IT and I would really like to do something along those lines, but have no idea how to get started in a new realm of accounting/auditing. I am almost dreading it as I really do not want to go back to an intern level of knowledge on a new field, but realize it is the only way as tax is simply making me miserable. Any helpful ideas to begin the switch? What fields can I pursue with IT interest and the CPA? any insight is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    BEC - 92
    FAR - 82
    REG - 90

Seems the audit side of things gets pretty IT intensive, so that might be a somewhat lateral move, but you'll still be shuffling paper.
