    Hi all,

This past summer I took FAR and came close to passing but failed and I took AUD as well and that score was a disaster. I took a few months off from studying for the CPA to come up with a new study plan and to give myself some time away from it since it was well needed. I’m looking for some helpful tips and advice as I am now preparing to take BEC shortly after the new year. If you would please be so kind and share what you found to be helpful in your studies (particularly in regards to BEC but I welcome advice for all sections since I will be tackling those after). I have been given access to Becker CPA review from my firm but if you have used Becker and recommend another study program please explain why. I want to ensure that I pass this section of the exam so that I’m not discouraged any more than I currently am about obtaining my licenses. Lastly, I have found that watching the prerecorded lectures did not add any value to my studies in the past, can anyone relate? Should I still watch them this time around?

Thank you in advance for all the helpful tips and advice.

    Sincerely,
    A very discouraged prospective CPA.

First question, how many hours and how many MCQs were you doing for your FAR and AUD fails?

Memento Mori - Kingston NY CPA & EA (SUNY Albany 2002)

    FAR-93 11/9/17 (10wks, 250 hrs, Roger 1800+ MCQs, Gleim TB 600+MCQs, SIMs)
AUD-88 12/7/17 (3 wks, 85 hrs, Roger 1000 MCQs no SIMs hail mary)
    REG-96 1/18/18 (6 wks, 110 hrs, 1400 MCQs, no SIMs)
    BEC-91 2/16/18 (4wks, 90 hrs, 1240 MCQs)

I would say that I reached around 150 hours when preparing for FAR and I completed anywhere from 40-60 MCQ's a day. My experience with that exam was that the simulations were much harder than I could have ever expected. With AUD I didn't get to put in the time that I wanted when studying for that exam and that showed in my score.

Double those questions. And how many days were in the 150 hours?

    AUD - 75
    BEC - 78
    FAR - 81
    REG - 83
