Hi All – I wanted to ask what, if any, incentives your place of work gives you on passing the CPA exams? I am doing some research on the topic and would love your input.

Yeah, which state do you work for? I need to work for them. I currently work for the State of Florida, and they'll gladly pat you on the back for getting your CPA, but not reward you one dime for passing it. They figure that they now have more for less, is their thought process I suppose.

What do they call an accounting person, who only managed a 75 on all four parts of the CPA exam....you got it, CPA!!!

Tennessee. They hire year round, if anyone is interested in Auditing. They do look at GPA and 150 hours to sit for CPA.

50-75 small to medium local/regional firm
CPA bonus I believe is 500-2500, depending on the criteria. CPA will not impact salary (I believe), however it will be a positive aspect on annual review.

Only got 1k because although I passed within a year of employment, I did not complete with one year upon graduation. Did not get the license for the money, but it would be nice to cover the exam fees at least post tax.

Private industry- I am way underpaid but they are paying for me to study during working hours, paid for my study materials, and are paying for the exams and any associated fees. If I fail an exam I have to pay to retake it. Upon passing I will receive a $6,000 raise and a $6,000 bonus.

During public, i recall colleagues getting 2,500 bonuses if passed within 2 yrs.

I since left for private, passed it in industry yearssssssss later. Got a high five and congrats but i wasnt expecting bonus. However, self satisfaction knowing doors will open in future/potential higher rating at work didnt hurt. Long term self investment is very much the main benefit. I'm sure at other private companies, bonuses are provided but i doubt its as large as those who truly require a CPA to perform duties (public accountants for firms)
