I’m using CPAexcel to study for FAR and I’m not sure if I’m finding the topic really boring, the instructor difficult to learn from, or if I’m just really tired while watching videos (there’s been some late nights this week), but I’m having a very difficult time taking in the information. I plan to go back and read the material during my review phase, but I’m wondering how difficult people have found the questions during the actual exam. The instructor with CPAexcel seems to stress that the questions are not that difficult.

P.S. I want FAR to be over, and I never thought I’d say it, but I’m looking forward to AUD.

I'm right there with you with regard to video fatigue. Govt is my last lecture section before I start hammering questions and SIMS for the next four weeks and I can barely make myself sit still for 20 minutes at a time to read along with Roger…arg. I find out if I passed REG on Monday and if I did, I think I can get excited about studying again since FAR will be my last section. I will make myself get through it, but I sure hope the answer to your question is “several mcqs at a not-so-difficult level.”

Some easy and some medium. A lot of it comes down to whether you know it or you don't. Know the funds. Know what goes in and out of the funds. Know what happens when a fund goes from perm restricted, unrestricted, temp restricted. Know how the ending balances look like when one amount goes from being restricted to unrestricted. It's been a while and I'm already knee deep into BEC but I do remember being tested pretty heavily on govt/NPF to the point where I was kind of sick of answering questions on the topic. But I have heard of people who haven't been tested as heavily on it.

It's dry and it's weird but you'll get it eventually. Reading helps and so does just doing a bunch of questions.

My experience is similar to chrislo2007. You need to know GOV accounting guys! At least to be familiar with it. Have you seen the AICPA breakdown of %% for topics? It's about 15-20% for gov accounting. And they do stuff the tests with this 15-20% gov questions

I walked out of the exam thinking I didn't get any of them right. Ninja MCQ are the closest thing to what I saw on the exam regarding Gov/NFP questions.
