Do they really toss out?

Do you think they really toss out portions of the test?

I am dreading finding out my FAR score, I feel like it took so much time away from my family to study only to get a progressively hard test and a couple SIMS that I never even considered. I am hoping the one that was impossible for me is a “test” SIM – anyone have thoughts?

Yes, there really are field questions. It is definitely possible that the dreaded SIM will be a field question and not counted towards your score.

With regards to your comment on a progressively harder test, this means you probably performed well. You are given medium difficulty testlets to begin with. If you do well on these you get difficult testlets. This makes the test seem to get harder as you go. If it doesn't seem to get harder as you go, it is because you are not performing well and continuing to get medium difficulty testlets. It is a concept known as multistage testing used by the AICPA.

Worrying will not help, nothing to do now except take a little time off or start prepping for your next exam.

Dude a progressively hard test means you did well on the first test. And the sims are always hard. I have taken this exam 6 times and it is blatantly obvious that you don't need to ace the sims or the MCQ to pass and there is a ton of partial credit. Also, a 75 has nothing to do with % correct. Realistically, my guess is a 50% translates to a 75 and you have to do pretty bad to fail. The proof is how many people on this forum felt clueless on an exam and still passed. People get way too stressed out if they miss a couple sims. I scored a 69 on FAR my first time after guessing on the last 10 MCQ's because of how bad I had to go bathroom (lol) and not having a clue on 7 of the 8 sims. Don't worry about it too much

    Hey sbacpa,

I am sure my fellow candidates will agree that the way you feel about a test doesn't really matter. More often then not you nearly give yourself a heart attack leading up to the score and then nearly get another when you find out how well you did.

Try and put your mind at ease, you got this.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 92
    FAR - 82
    REG - 90

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the feedback, and agreed, planning on trying to chill out the next 3 weeks because I am waiting on both AUD and FAR but took FAR more recent, so I'm not sure which one I would retake first if needed. Also, I can't even remember how I felt walking out of AUD the 2nd time, lol, there's been so much between now and April – so here's hoping and fingers crossed. Less than 3 weeks right??
