DO we have to apply for CPA certificate before the first expiration?

    I just passed all 4 sections but my first exam expires in December. In my state we need to have 2000 hours before we can apply for the certificate. But I don’t think I will have 2000 hours before December…

    So when I apply for CPA certificate next year, will they deny my scores since one of them has expired?

    Thank you so much!!

    the rule is typically that you need to pass all for within 18 month rolling window.
    I am not aware of any rule that stipulates you must also apply within that same window. Once you pass all 4 they are yours for life.
    Also, this is probably something you should have looked into BEFORE taking all 4 exams. Might be best to verify with your state board.

    As a fail safe, I would apply now, even while you are lacking the 2000 hours. That way your file is already with your board, and then once you meet the 2000 hours you can send the verification to them for final approval?

    @ReckedRacing Thank you!!

    Yeah I pass all within 18 months, so I am not worrying about the 18 month rule.

    I am just confused about the application process. Some of my friends wait for 2 years after passing all sections and they still got the certificate, but the Credit Expiration date on CPA Center seems terrifying…

    I will contact the State Board, thank you!!
