    Hi all,
I am an MS in Accountancy student graduating in May 2018. I do not have any accounting experience so far. I find it challenging to deal with the documents that appear in the exams. Please provide me some guidance.

Don't take it personal, I have 15 years of public accounting experience, focused in tax.
I also have trouble sifting through the documents and figuring out what is valid and what is not.
You just have to try your best and focus on what the questions are asking.

Your best option is just to practice DRS questions. Find a review program that has some and grind a bunch out. Rogers has some fairly difficult ones that really overprepared me for the exam DRS questions. The majority of his other sims now have supporting documents too

    REG - 92 (1/17)

    BEC - 82 (2/17)

    AUD - 89 (5/17)

    FAR - 94 (9/17)

Rogers Elite + Becker mcqs/sims for all 4 exams

    WA State Ethics Exam - 83, 83, 90 (9/17)

    AICPA Ethics Exam - 95 (9/17)

@Superdude3000 do you think Roger has recently added those DRS simulations? Because my university had provided me limited time access for audit earlier this year for Roger's audit material and I did not find many DRS simulations at that time. Currently, I am using Gleim and they also have very few DRS simulations.

@ReckedRacing I am really depressed thinking about and coming across those simulations with many documents. Now learning about your experience, I am feeling that I am not the only one. But I am really worried.

Do not be depressed about it. You have to prepare for them. Upon proper preparation, you should be able to tackle them if you just breathe. I have not taken an exam yet (FAR in 5 days), but the best thing you can do is just be prepared. Learn the materials and practice doing some DRS's. It's just like anything else in life with proper preparation, it'll all work out.

They've continued to add them. They have a good amount now and I like that they're more difficult than what you see on the actual exam.

@Bourne you are right. Preparation is the only way to tackle them I guess. Which review course are you using?

I'm using Wiley. I “learned” the materials in about a 5-6 weeks through Wiley and then have been doing Ninja MCQ's and some sims in these last 2 weeks leading up to the exam as review. I also listen to the Ninja notes on my way to and from work and read the Ninja notes on the subway a couple times a week. It's been a crazy, no life having last 7 weeks so let's hope all of the prep is efficient.

The biggest thing you can do is when you're studying, make sure you're actually studying and paying attention. Idk how many times I've caught myself “studying” but actually not fully invested into it. Luckily, the Ninja MCQ's have helped dramatically, but we'll see in December.

@Bourne I agree with you completely. I feel that my life has become completely stagnant while this process. I do understand the material, practice and take notes and do practice both mcq and simulations but when it comes to the documents on the real exam, I feel lost. I lose my confidence after that experience and this happens mainly during FAR and AUD. I will keep your suggestion in mind.

I haven't taken my first exam yet so my advice isn't worth much as of now. I'll report back after the FAR experience on Thursday.
