    Just passed all four parts to the CPA so I guess it’s now on to the ethics exam. Would someone please tell me what happens if you don’t pass the ethics exams within 3 tries? Do you lose your BEC, REG, AUD or FAR scores? Or do you just have to reapply and retake it another 3 times?

    This would be for California

    For 2017 requirement, you need to take an ethic accounting course with 3 semester unit. Think you can still enroll in foothill spring quarter.

    @Moeshow

    You register and receive three attempts. If you do not pass in three attempts, contact the board for an additional 3 attempts free. If you fail those three, you must re-register (pay again).

    Does not affect your exam scores. Unlimited tries. Only repercussion is you might look/feel like an idiot haha.

    @Needsa75 It's a joke. I've been taking it while studying and you will breeze through it. Be prepared for a TON of discussion boards though, 5 a week to be exact.

    @NeedsA75 So you only need ONE ethics accounting course to satisfy the requirement, right?

    @CPYay ok haha! That's what I wanted to know! So, after that I'm pretty much good to go?

    @needsa75 I'm taking the same foothill class in a few weeks. Should be fun to have something easy after these exams.

    Would you guys know if my “Acct Ethics & Prof Resp” course in grad school would satisfy the requirement? I’m assuming, yes, but I’m not sure if it’s a specific course title I need.

    @moeshow you should meet the requirement with that graduate course. Here is what the Cali code states regarding the additional education requirement:

    (c) A minimum of three semester units or four quarter units in courses at an upper division level or higher devoted to accounting ethics or accountants professional responsibilities, unless the course was completed at a community college, in which case it need not be completed at the upper division level or higher.
