Just FYI, this is at least how the Ilinois Board looks like they will be handling exam credits that expire later this year. They recommend other boards to go about this way as well. It’s not super clear, but at least it seems like exams will be put on extension if this affects you.

Good news for those with credit expiring in Q3/Q4. I feel like they should do that for candidates like myself who have scores expiring in Q2. By the time August rolls around, I could have 0, 1 or 4 passes. I could re-study for the first expired score, but it's like, how hard would I study not knowing the score results. :/ Just waste a testing window I suppose…

@Claudia408 Hopefully you will pass REG and FAR this quarter so you won't have to worry about anything in Q2. I took BEC this month but I was starting to freak out thinking worst case scenario if I had to retake it next quarter, and then find out I failed after my AUD expired in August haha.

Being extended until December would be incredible. My exam expires 7/31 so it's literally right in that dead zone. It'd be nice for all states to form some sort of 3-4 month extension

Just called my State Board and they have no clue what I am talking about. The lady said there is no changes to the score timeline. My FAR Score expires on May 31st, and I have REG left to take. I am planning on taking it in mid May. Contacted NASBA and they said as long as I take it by the expiration date I am good. I am still worried about the answer I got from my State Board. Anyone from Michigan have any other info/advice for me?

Emily0404, Michigan is clueless… I called for credit information and they legit transferred me to 4 people and no one could answer my questions. Michigan's board of accountancy is like one person sitting behind a desk pretending to be 5 other people (if that makes sense). SOOOOOOOOO SCARY that no one can answer the questions.

I have credits expiring in April and May 2017, live in California and called my state board. The response I got is that I will not get an extension bc I will have had all my attempts in without having to wait for this new score release. What I don't think is fair is that if I don't pass the last 2 exams by April, I'll be a sitting duck til October.

I'm in NC. I have to retake REG in February (score expired) and then get FAR in (3rd try – got a 73 in November) by May 15th or I lose BEC and AUD by the August score release. So, either I'll be completely done in May or only have one score that's NOT expired. This sucks!

@Tax lady – isn't that just the worse! i spent 2 years studying and i'm on the verge of losing it all. i thought of just quitting all together after April 17. i know i'll have a 6 month break til i can take another section but it might turn into a forever break. i'll probably regret it though…

@Claudia – Yes, this test has made me a crazy person! I have thought about giving up too. Especially now that I could potentially have to start over again. I've been at this over 2 years (off and on). I've had two major surgeries and changed jobs twice within this time and I'm ready for life to be “normal.” But, I know if I quit I will regret it. I've failed FAR twice and both times have really gotten to me. That section is the worst!

That's good news. Good information.

I've been worried. I have two exams left, FAR retake in a few weeks and AUD in April. My first exam falls off in November. If I need to retake FAR again plus AUD and not have the results until August, it would be very difficult for me to pass two tests before the first week of November…plus I'm getting married in September LOL

I'm going to be the person who says "I finished even though..." not the person who says "I didn't finish because..."
