Im taking my test on 3/4 but my drivers license expires on 2/27 i JUST found out and i never got a renewal notice from the dmv.. i dont have a valid passport .. i dont have anything else and itll take two wees for me to get my new id card/drivers license

Am i screwed?

If you go to the DMV they will give you a temp driver's license that should work too. A temp driver's license functions as a regular one I even used it to board an airplane once. Or you can bring your passport if you have one.

Call your testing center and see if they'd accept the temp driver's license. They should accept it, but one time my driver's license was going to expire a couple weeks after my test date and the lady gave me crap for it. Insert eyeroll here.

I called prometric( not the testing center, just the number on the website) and they said they will not take an expired license even if i show them a receipt of the renewal but when I called the actual prometric testing center and they said that if i show them a temp license and the receipt i should be fine.

im not sure who to believe :/
What if they dont take my temp license on the day of my exam?

Saw a guy come in with a license he didn't know was expired. The staff at Prometric directed him to an online renewal in Alabama, let him renew his license from their computer, and print the temp license to use. Might be worth it to check if your state offers an online renewal.

Yeah they will definitely not let you take it with an expired license. My friend didn't realized his was expired until he arrived at Prometric. They did ask him to go to the DMV and get a temp license and then go back. He instead called me to bring in his passport because we all know how long the waits at the DMV are.

I came to test center with an expired license ( unaware it has been expired for 3 months already). They told me to go to dmv to get a temp driver's license. Waited at the dmv for 2 hours. Came back and was able to take my exam.
