Extension of Credit Question

I lost my REG credit after failing FAR last section. I am going to retry FAR on 5/18 but I will not get the score back until 6/11. I want to apply for an extension of my REG credit if I pass FAR this time (I have a medical issue). The thing is… I am still going to try to re-pass my expired REG this quarter also on 6/10, because I can’t wait for 6/11 as the testing window will be closed and I’d have to give up this testing section if I don’t re-try this time and I also have no idea how long it will take to get the approval for the extension of the credit. So waiting for them to approve it is risky because I’d lose the testing window to try for a re-pass of REG.

My question is – if they see that I have already retaken the expired section, will they deny my request to reinstate it?

Every state has their own protocols on how they review applications and, based on posts here on this forum, exceptions are always reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

I would call your state board and ask them what the procedures are. In the meantime, I would definitely continue with the plan for taking REG in June. If they grant you an extension and you pass FAR then you studied for nothing. No big deal. But if you don't study and they deny you, then you could be in some trouble.

I hope everything works out for you and sorry about your medical issue. Sucks to have to deal with that on top of these exams.
