    Fellow Ninjas,

I need your advice on passing Audit.

I failed audit with 61 in November 2016 and just got 72 on a retake. I really thought I had a good chace at passingthis time but it didn’t happen. I used becker and beckers final review along with Ninja mcqs. My stats were pretty decent and I felt confident. I am so devastated right now but I know I have to regroup myself and tackle audit once and for all. Please share your experiences and help me come up with a better study plan on passing Aud…

Today I got AUD score of 91 from first time
    Used becker only for studying,
I think they have more than enough information to study and concentrate on,
    My suggestions to you are

    Make your own notes

Write in your notes answers of MCQs that you feel is important to read them again , specially those have information not in the book and reread all this notes day before exam.

    And for sure study harder.

Am international student so i think i lost some points because of the language.

    Good luck next time

@ActionCPA here is my observation.Becker's has too much info and that's the issue for people like us who have job and family and some have dog too.I recently studied Gleim and Roger's AUD as last time got 70 after scanning through Becker's.Now I know lot of stuff which I didn't notice in AUD which was definitely there then there are stuff which Gleim is lacking ( details ) e.g type of Independence threats in Govt Auditing etc.So I am reading mixing Gleim and Becker's along with Ninja MCQ.Feeling confident this time.
You have done FAR so it's really surprising how you are failing in AUD as I have heard FAR helps AUD SIM particularly AJE or Ratio analysis. Please share your weak points based on your last two exams so the AUD gurus of this forum can give you customized advise.

Nath- Once I get my report, I will try analyzing my weaker area. I think I have to do a better job memorizing verbiage in all of the reports and understand the internal control in depth. I also need to review the effects of the financial ratio to the financial statements and reverse j/e which beckers doesn't really go over that much.. Where can I get my hands on these topic related sims?

I know I struggled with the testing for AUD until I realized that I could use the literature to look up actual letters etc (ie I didnt have to memorize as much!)

Also, I wrote my own (hundreds) of note flash cards. ANything I didnt understand as I was writing it, I had to review. Also I tried explaining things to my 11 year old daughter and my husband. If I couldnt “teach” them, then I didnt understand it well enough myself.

im in a very similar position! failed AUD 7/2016 with a 67 and failed 10/2016 with a 70… improvement but still not enough. I only used becker those two times. I currently have that scheduled again for 5/2016 and I have just purchased NINJA AUD notes and audio (with choosing AUD plus as my ‘freebie' with the promotion right now).

Hoping the audio with really click for me because i can memorize songs like crazy usually and i can just play it while im driving, working out, working, etc. hoping to do that during the day and at night read through the becker book and the NINJA notes (and hopefully after listening to audio all day it will seem more familiar and click better).

Just found out I failed REG for the second time today with 2X more studying and actually lost 4 pts… so I'm giving myself a break from that till the summer (cause clearly something isnt working there) and giving myself till the weekend to come up with a study plan for AUD. Its hard to pass BEC back in 5/2016 and hear back from 5 exams now that ive failed, definitely feel defeated at times but honestly these forums are super supportive and help you feel like youre not alone!

---- Trying to figure out what works for me

    BEC - 76

    AUD - 67, 71, 5/1

    FAR - 9/2016

    REG - 8/2016, 1/2017

Purchase NINJA notes and read 15 pages a day and write 7 all the way until exam day or a few days leading up to the exam. It helps tremendously get over the hump. I also pulled the SAS standards from the AICPA website and read AU-C 315, 500 & 915 (these were the parts I struggled with.

    Cruzer,

Where do you think I can find study material for financial ratio effecting various f/s, and reversing journal entries? Where in Authoritative Literature would explain these?

Anyone else out there that passed the audit exam in 3rd or 4th try and what did you do differently to pass… PLEASE HELP!

The only advice I can give is to do the multiple choice questions at least twice and three times on the ones you still don't get. I did all the SIMs twice, not bc it would help me with the actual SIM but bc it will add an actual layer of understanding of the subject. I also listened to all the lectures from becker. good luck!

    AUD - 87
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 75
    REG - 82

@ActionCPA I'm on the same boat as you. I failed Audit in Q4 2016. I studied all of December and mid Jan using Becker MCQ's, and even bought NINJA MCQ and NINJA notes. I went through over 4700 MCQ's combined with Becker and NINJA. I was at an 85% average, trending 84% on NINJA going into the exam. I still failed this second time around. It's definitely devastating. My score only improved 7 points. The only thing I didn't do both times was study any of the SIMS. I only focused on MCQ's. I just started my 2 week review for Regulation, but now decided to push it back to Q2 2017. I don't think I can pass it with two fails in a row. My confidence is shot. So instead, I am going to take BEC before the exam changes. Then take REG and Audit in Q2 2017. I plan on taking Audit last, but I think my new approach, will be read every single chapter again. Take my own notes. (I didn't do this before, so I think this help in recalling the information), and lastly complete and study all the SIMS.

    AUD - 75
    BEC - 76
    FAR - 76
    REG - NINJA in Training
