I have taken a total of 4 exams and never thought I would be in the position I am now. I have only passed Reg and I have been studying since August-2017. Just found out I didn’t pass AUD, which I felt good about. The delayed score release hasn’t helped so I am glad to see that changing in 2019. I have been using Becker and Ninja but can’t seem to get a passing score the first time around. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The CPA exam is weird. I can't really suggest anything unless I know what you're doing – – can you give me an example of a section where you're stuck? How much and how you spend your time? The best thing is to go for breadth over depth, and to understand the topic at an elementary level, then slowly advance your understanding to a high school level. I'd only recommend professional expertise for topics that are tested as simulations.

    BEC - 83
    FAR - 85
    REG - 84

Well I just failed AUD with a 68 and don't know how to restudy the material. What study strategy works best for you? I personally use the NINJA MCQ's and sims a lot and have found it helpful but I want to make sure I am doing the best I can. I used to go through all of the backer material and then use NINJA but I feel like watching the Becker videos isn't the best use of my study time.

I didn't fail Audit, but I did fail the other three. I stopped watching the videos, and now I just do MCQS and SIMs. The most important strategy for me was to do only problems and take notes of what I missed and the problems I didn't understand. I also re-typed the notes. With the practice exams (I use Wiley), I reviewed each section of the practice exams before I moved to the next section. Some people might prefer to complete the entire exam and then review, but I found it more useful to review what I missed. Make sure you search this website because a lot of people give great advice about strategies. I have used some of them. I hope this helps.

It took almost two years, but I am now finished with my CPA exams.

I failed AUDIT and what I think helped me the most was powering through MCQs, even if I didn't fully understand the concepts. Near the end of the material, everything kind of came together and I began to understand what the audit process was and how to answer the questions. I do agree with 2big, I could not learn from the videos, instead I read the book, took notes, did hella MCQs and repeat. Studied about 6 days a week, about 100 for AUDIT.

    AUD - 64, 80 Passed on 10/09/17
