Have anyone passed the CPA using only Ninja materials with no background of using any other materials. I am literally trying out only the Ninja (bad idea or good idea?).
I’ve been out of school over 10years and out practice. A mother of a 2yr old. Any advice? I have good weeks (weeks i get 20hrs in) and wasted weeks (weeks i get less than 6 hours in).

I’m studying the FAR first to take but there’s others thas says that they regret taking it first because towards the end their time is close. Others say go for FAR first because it’s the most material (get it out the way).

    My questions are:
    1. What have or would you do in my situation?
    2. Did you use a mixture of ninja and another material or is ninja enough (in your opinion or experience)?
    3. How long is enough to study for this?

i’m so nervous but i have to do this!!!

If you ask they same question
about any reviews you would find some people will swear by it and some will criticize it.
I believe if u are liking and understandind Ninja Review
then go for it because understanding the concept that is most important.

All review courses have more than enough material for candidates to pass. The problem is the end user.

I'm still using (and passing) with 5-year-old Wiley books that cost maybe $100. Otoh I had to pay more in retakes because I too didn't know how to study at first.

My opinion is that a mixture of multiple materials is best. I am using Wiley and Ninja. IMO, Ninjas source materials (books, and notes) does not provide the right context for learning the material. I much prefer Wiley's text to Ninjas On the other hand, the bisk videos that ninja has are VERY helpful and are far superior to Wiley's videos (i do not even watch wiley's videos because I feel they add no value). The bisk videos are out of date, but for many topics where there have not been changes those things are gold.

Ninjas MCQs are pretty good, and I like the software better than wiley. the questions are also different. As an example, I am currently studying governmental accounting. I am trending far better on the wiley test bank than I am on Ninja's governmental questions….by a wide margin. I do not know if this is to be directly translated that the Ninja MCQs will better prepare me for the exam, but there is certainly a difference.

So, having said all of this, I would suggest using Ninja for MCQs and the bisk videos, and perhaps use a different text for study. Youtube can fill in the blanks for videos where bisk fall short.

You can do the month by month thing for Ninja so I would give it a spin. study a bit, take some MCQs and see if you are learning the material. If not, perhaps look into other study materials.

I can't say whether Ninja is good enough on it's own, but I know I wouldn't have passed without the Ninja MCQ. I used MDS CPA Review which did an excellent job with their notes and lectures, but lacked on MCQ software. This is where Ninja saved my butt.

I recommend taking FAR first, because for me it was the hardest, but that is just my opinion.

    @tygolfer,
Could you please elaborate more on MDS? Their strengths/weakness. You said something about their test bank. Which TB do u recommend for detailed explanations with short cut tricks? (I am using Wiley and their explanations are lacking)

In my experience, Ninja is better than a supplement than a main material. I really liked Becker as my main material but when you hit the review phase, you need something new and something extra. Ninja MCQ and SIMS, especially for AUD and REG were instrumental for my passing.
