    @markiux88, everything else in FAR doesn't seem difficult to me at all. I think what makes bonds difficult for me is the poor explanations Becker gives >:0 . This is only my first time through bonds since I started to restudy. I will dominate these bonds before Oct 30th! Maybe Wiley will have better explanations. You're right, that amortization schedule really helps, but only with interest related, or liability related questions… P.S I HATE BONDS

    @Peanut…I was scared when I started doing bonds because I had always struggled with these as well…but CPAExcel had some damn good explanations and examples that I felt I really mastered the subject…

    Hi All

    Can anyone tell me how much study time do you think is required for FAR , I am using Yaeger and can usually do around 20-22 hours in a week …

    I think… I might… smash something. I was just in the middle of a big section on bonds, half way through the MCQs, and my computer just up and restarted by itself with the message “windows update automatically restarting” As I was yelling “nooooo” I tried to hit “No” when Becker asks “are you sure you want to exit?” Once my computer booted back up, all my work was gone. FML. Maybe it's a blessing and disguise to have to go through all that material again 🙁 crappy end to a crappy study day.

    I just started F2 in Becker, and wtf? Compared to F1 with Olinto, Gearty in F2 is NOT helping at all! All he tells me to do is highlight everything in sight, and he just reads what is there. Any suggestions on how to REALLY study the material? I don't understand a thing. I don't remember him being this bad in AUD. I'm not learning anything! 🙁

    BEC - 65 (4/10), 83 (8/10)
    AUD - 64 (10/10), 73 (2/11), 93 (8/11)
    REG - 47 (7/09), 80 (10/11)
    FAR - 84 (11/11) Texas. I'm done!!!

    I completely agree with you. Gearty and his highlight this, underscore that, and his “again” is really getting to me. Wish Olinto did some more teaching in financial.

    So I was scheduled to take FAR next week but I completely chickened out when I realized I knew little more than half of the materials. I panicked and gave in my $35 rescheduling fee. With that being said, in little less than a month, what is a good way to attack the materials of FAR. As in like a rapid and upbeat review. I don't know where to start!!! Should I redo supplement MCQ over and over again for all 9 sessions till it gets redundant? Or start from rewriting notes? My mistake from the start was taking way too much time getting through one lecture. I definitely regret that to say the least. HELP ANYONE

    @CPAdriven have you gone through all of the MCQs completely? This is just a suggestion, but maybe now you could give yourself a few mini quizzes on each chapter 50-75 MCQ quiz per chapter. Then do a few progress tests to narrow down your weak areas. It will be a good way to find out which areas you need help with. I try to rewrite my notes 1-2 weeks before the exam to keep it fresh.

    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67

    Hey Harry don't worry…Eevn I've seen many posts where candidates had same expereience as you had, but scored well….You never know…let's hope for the best.

    BTW, any suggestions for IFRS ?

    I believe, Q4 is testing IFRS quite heavily…somewhat similar to the weightage of GVT and NFP had.

    This may be kind of random but… its eating at me..

    How do you pronounce the acronym of the exam? I say it how it's spelled, “far” but others pronounce “fair”… How do you guys say it?

    It drives me nuts just like cost-co being pronounced like cos-co!

    @bronzy I pronounce it Fair

    also , just started studying for Far,I'm studying with Rogers and using the wiley for multiple choice. I have about 6 weeks until I sit for the exam. I feel a overwhelmed at the moment with all the material. I study about 6-8 hours a day.

    what is the best approach for FAR? I feel pretty lost sometimes. is note taking really valuable or should I just use the time to do multiple choice instead.

    thx in adv

    @Peanut

    There are just way too many MCQs but i guess practice makes perfect. Its really straining to even get through 50 mcq per day and to fully understand them. but thanks! and I will definitely rewrite my notes. and good luck on your FAR exam at the end of the month. hope it goes well.

    @bronzy

    I pronounce it “far” but even with that i get weird looks sometimes so i stick to “financial” lol and isn't “costco” pronounced like how its spelled? “cost-co”

    @bkkguru

    6 weeks is plenty. just stick with the plan and don't slack off. definitely go through the lectures ATLEAST once this way you when you're working on the MCQs you won't be lost and definitely make room for MC and simulation practice before moving on to final review. This will be my plan for the next 4 weeks.

    Have any of you passed after feeling like you have never seen anything like the sims and barely knew how to do them?
