    Hello Everyone,

I am currently signed up for the Becker self-study review program and am lucky to say my schedule is fairly empty with the exception of Tuesday nights and Saturday nights. If I am willing to spend the majority of my waking time studying for FAR, do you believe it is passable with only a months worth of studying under my back?

    Thanks!

Sure, it won't be easy but if you are going to study all day then it is possible.

Depends. Everyone is different. Are the college classes still fresh in your mind? That makes a difference.

There is a lot of material in FAR. If it were me, I wouldn't push it. I would wait until January. But that's just me. I've been out of college for a while and am basically relearning a lot of it.

Yes. I just graduated college but I'm not exactly sure how much of the material I still remember.

I've been studying for 2 weeks, so I'm trying to do FAR in roughly 6 weeks.

So, let's hope for the best !!

I just took FAR a week ago studying full time. I gave myself two months. I guess it's possible in a month but FAR is a real beast. It includes the most information. In terms of the Becker self study, you normally would do 2 chapters per week with a 1-2 week review period before your exam. There are 10 chapters in FAR. If you were to cram more than two each week you can make it happen, but if you hit any kind of road block it could become really difficult to catch up to that pace. My suggestion is if you are a good studier and think you can stay committed to a full month nonstop then go for it. If it doesn't work out you can retest in January. Don't rush it if you aren't ready for a wake to sleep study committment.

I will be getting my score at this next score release. Fingers crossed as I start to tackle audit!

For FAR I'd say you would definitely need at least 6 weeks. A month doesn't seem like its enough and you may not be prepared. Right now im doing it in 5 weeks but since its a retake, Im familiar with some the stuff and I have more time to study. Also, im taking governmental accounting now as a course so that should help a little for the government part.

Hey cool_kid, what is your review process like for the re-take? I too have to take a re-take…i'm 4 weeks out.

I'm using Roger and ninja mcq. I'm going through the sections in the book and writing down my own notes. I do some questions from either Roger or ninja after I'm done with a specific topic. I also periodically go back and review my notes from previous topics and do a couple of questions from those topics.

It is doable in 2 weeks: 1 day to read a chapter, half day to do the homework. So you need 8 days for reading and 4 for homework, 1 day for final exam and one day to check weak areas or relax.

All you need is around 2 weeks: 8 days to read the chapters, half day to do the homework for each, making it four days, 1 day for final exam and one day to review or relax!

These Zhabas must be Super CPAs because that sounds downright crazy to me. 2 week? A day to RELAX? At least not for someone with no accounting experience.

I have to agree with @ibaCPA. Everyone is different so it may work, but in my opinion at least for myself I think that one-two months is a good time frame to study. If you have nothing else going on and you really dedicate your days and nights to studying, one month should be enough time. Most people (including myself) try to allocate about two weeks strictly to review, but I believe 1 week of review can work as well. Hope that Helps.

Yes, two weeks for FAR along with a photographic memory to recall facts, and a decent IQ to put the facts together.

Hey guys i need some advice. I will have the FAR material wrapped up by the end of this month and will begin my long road to review in November. I will have 4 weeks to review. The first 7 days I don't anticipate being able to review much but will do a few hours, and the last 21 will be focused exclusively on reviewing. Should I go through section by section methodically and redo the questions in order that way or should I revert to my method of using the tutor to create random tests of say 50-100 mcq and do them that way? The exam tells me which sections I struggled on and typically I go to that section and re work that material and any other sections related to it if I feel necessary. I figure to go through the sections one by one and redo the problems will take me minimum of 10days.

Any advice would be appreciated as I need to know which works best. I honestly feel besides reg I got lucky on my other two exams as I walked in not as prepared as I could have been.

    BEC - 80 (12/13
