Hi All,

I plan on taking FAR in Q1 of 2018 (had to push it back because of work) but up until now I’ve been studying the revenue recognition rules testable for 2017. Could someone please fill me in on how drastic the revenue recognition changes are going to be? I just don’t want to waste time studying old rules that won’t be applicable to the 2018 FAR exam.

Just my two cents if I were studying for FAR, I would do some research on ASC 606 (revenue contracts with customers).

ASC 606 isn't testable until Q1 '18. Everyone taking FAR this quarter – no worries.

“Revenue Recognition” will be the major change in FAR content , I sent an email to Becker regarding this , they advised me to switch versions once it becomes available Which will be in November because it's a substantial part of the FAR exam & its tested at the application and analysis level.
