I was with you last week.
Is your test in the morning or afternoon?
Make sure you get good sleep the night before. Deep breaths. Lots of MCQ's. Devil is in the details.
    Time management, so important.
I spent the days before the exam going over trouble areas with a focus on the analysis level, and ended up only getting MCQ's on those areas.

@ReckedRacing-the test is at 12:30. I plan on getting there early and they usually take me whenever I get there…I plan on doing lots of MCQ between now and then. I have tightened up on a lot of details this weekend as a result of my mock exam, and will go over gov't accounting again (I hate it). I am a crazy fast test taker, so I am hoping time management won't be an issue, but regardless I plan on being done with MCQ in one hour and then however long SIMS take. I was done with REG in 2 hours 5 minutes and that one was a doozy…

Thanks guys! I was re-reading my F9 and F10 in Becker about government accounting at 6am today, and got an 86 on a progress test, only to get two back to back 70s in Ninja…Ugh!!! This rollercoaster has to be over! Gonna stick to MCQ as much as I can at this point, because if I focus on any one area, i will forget everything else:) LOL

@anyatver How many questions did you do for your progress test? Also, I was reviewing bonds today and I forgot so much about it! Have you taken mock exams? and looked though the AICPA released questions?

@EAS in my opinion, looking through the AICPA questions is a 100% must do. It's only 40 questions andf gives you an idea of what they consider “medium” and “hard” questions. What I have done in the past is try to see how many of the 40 I get correct, and then if I don't know it/guessed right – I review EVERYTHING about that topic. For instance if the question is about double declining balance depreciation and I forget how that works, I will review all depreciation methods to make sure I know them. I figure, the AICPA considers depreciation to be a testable topic, so you better know it.

I have not done newly released questions in Becker but I will today! I think it's 61 questions which is doable. I did both mock exams. 71 on the first one, 79 on the second. Scored significantly higher on SIMS. Did AICPA practice test which I thought was easy. In Becker I have done 33 question progress tests (to mimic a testlet) but lately I have gone down to 20 just to take a quick “temperature”. I have done anywhere from 30 to 50 questions at a time in Ninja. I have taken so many of these I lost count:) LOL

@anyatver do you work full time too? How many hours would you say you study in a day/how many questions do you do?

I struggle with quantity vs quality some days. I work full time and shoot for 100 questions every day. On areas I struggle with, I spend 5-10 min on some questions and it becomes impossible to get anywhere near 100 questions in a day but I usually feel better about my understanding of that topic.

@CPAthethird-Oh yeah, full time job, 2 kids, a dog and a husband:) I would say I study about 4-5 hours a day, depending on the day, more on the weekends, if I can. I count listening to lectures and reviewing flashcards studying, too:) I wouldn't get too hung up on the amount of questions you are doing-it's definitely quality over quantity. You could do 100 questions and get half of them wrong because you don't understand the topic, or spend 1 hour reading the book and do 20 and get an 85…. I have definitely made it a point to get through the entire Ninja testbank, but I have used the progress tests more to gauge my understanding in Becker. So what I have done is-say you are reviewing F1. I would do a progress test in Becker-go back to the book and review areas where I got the lowest scores. Then go back to Ninja, pick the subtopics that correspond (more or less) and do a 30 question there. This way you have both gauged your progress, reviewed and practiced MCQ.

Ok, did the AICPA newly released questions in Becker-no surprises there. Did some SIMS last night and another progress test in Becker-overall 80. A bit lower than I anticipated-made some dumb mistakes. Today, I plan on doing several Ninja MCQ sessions and mini Becker tests on each chapter, just to get to any details I am starting to forget. Will do Ninja JE SIMS tonight. Reviewed my notes on the train. Oh, and have to look at gov't financials in real life just to get my head around them! 2 more days of studying! Friday can't get here fast enough!
