FAR Research Questions

Hello. My FAR exam is tomorrow and I have some last minute questions and hopefully could get some tips for the research simulations.

I did all the research simulations that Ninja has. However, it seems that the authoritative literature in Ninja was greatly reduced, so searching a general keyword like “foreign currency” will essentially lead directly to the section that you need. I am guessing we will be given the full authoritative literature in the actual exam. My current plan is to just go from general searches, and use “search within” to become more and more specific. Do you think this method will work?

So far in Ninja, each research simulation only required us to find one standard that contained the information that they wanted. Will the CPA exam also only ask one standard per simulation? If there is more than one standard, how many standards are we usually required to find?

How were you able to figure out which simulations on the Ninja MCQ Dash were research questions? I can only pick random or specific # questions but have no idea which would be the ones I need so I could practice with the literature. Thanks!

Jeff has a list showing which SIMs are which. You get it in one of the pages you go through to reach the multiple choice site. I think it was called master Sims something.

No problem. Good luck with your exam.

I took the exam today, so I'll just answer my own question in case anyone needs it in the future. For me, it was only one standard for the whole simulation. Overall, I would say the research simulation is definitely a little bit harder than Ninja (only because they give you the whole Authoritative literature). But, I was able to find my answer within a minute (maybe I got a very easy question). Definitely try to make your search as specific as possible, so that you don't get that many search results.
