I am doing all Wiley MC over starting with the most weighted topics on down. I was Weaker in every topic except State and Local Governments. I am supplementing with Ninja. So far I have gone over the notes once. I have listen to all the Audio notes topics, and now I am listening to and taking notes from Ninja Plus Videos. I plan to be done with Wiley MC redo in the next two weeks then will start reviewing simulations and Ninja MC. I am also trying to use the Blueprint as a guide. Can anyone who has passed offer suggestions to my study plan? I have 6 weeks left.

I just (successfully) went through my re-take for FAR. Here is what I did-I used Becker as my primary source the first time around with Ninja as supplement. The 2nd go around, I just jumped into the Ninja MCQ first, took a couple of weeks to finish those, which gave me a really good idea where I was weak and what I had to work on. I then went through all my notes, and flashcards and re-wrote them into a new notebook while also going through the Becker book and adding to the notes. I then went back to Ninja and re-did all the questions I missed, until I pretty much got them all correct at least once. I left the SIMS for last (in Becker). The last few days before the test, I did the SIMS and some MCQ in Becker (just to keep things fresh as Ninja was redundant at that point) and I re-wrote my notes, by topic in my own words with JEs. I think that really helped. I would check out the “FAR SIMS straight from AICPA blueprint thread”-it matches Becker SIMS to the blueprint, but you can also probably do this yourself with Wiley if you know what to look for. There is also another blueprint webinar on 3/28 you can register for. I think following the blueprint as well as re-studying all the weak areas really was key to success. Good luck! Lastly, I took exactly 6 weeks for my re-take.

@anyatver, I have an old Becker book, for exams after 3/31/17 – is it still valid? I don't have access to Becker any longer 🙁 So I have Ninja, I think I did sniper or assault so I have access to a lot there…

I believe there were some changes since then in pensions, NFP, OCI (equity is now all in income) and the biggest change is revenue recognition but the new Ninja book would have been updated for that….

I'm currently preparing for my 6th retake of FAR. How sad. It's my last section.
I started with FAR and after a few fails put it to the side, passed the others and I'm back to battle the beast.
I've gotten a 73 on the last two FAR attempts.

I got the Surgent for FAR. The SIMS are really tough. Lots of DRS.
The SIMS are my weak point so I'm hoping all the exposure is helpful.

    April 11th is the day!

    AUD - 75
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 76
    REG - 78
    Have a great day

Yeah, it can be so incredibly frustrating…until you suddenly pass. I'm only 4 for 11 myself, and 3 of the passes were 75, so it's definitely not an impossibility I could even fail BEC 3 more times and lose a credit. But “I left it all with Jesus long ago.”

If I don't pass FAR this round, assuming my NTS ever comes (I'm still awaiting a stupid coupon payment email), I'm done. I don't think I, nor my marriage, can handle me losing REG and it's been TWO years.
I'm giving this ALL I have for a 4/19 retake. I will be 10 in all together… 2x REG, FOURx BEC, 1x AUD and 3x (hopefully) FAR.

I'm starting from square one, this weekend b/c I'm traveling with a child, and reading the book. I plan on coming back next weekend and doing the MCQ's and then move on. I have 600 pages to read, a S-ton of MCQ's and 4 weeks… pray for me.

Thanks anyatver! You make a good point about not going over the same questions once they're redundant.

    Pam,

I promise you'll be in the prayers of this random anon until test day! I'd be in the same boat right now if he wasn't already compelled to perform a miracle or three.

But I really don't think retakes need to be such a grind; homemade flashcards especially have made it an effortless process for me. Otoh I've failed 7 times already lol.

@Pam we all know how you feel. Failure is not a happy moment to share with friends or family, but don't give up. Many have passed, some faster than others, but you can too. This is not a contest. You know what you know just hang in there. We Ninja's are here to support you. As you can see, I've been here too long as a cheerleader and need to pass soon myself. :-/

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader.....time to pass

If you score low on your first take, say 20 or less (Just giving an example as this is the only number on my mind at the moment) and you do very well the second time, do you think the examiners would let you pass? even after scoring 20 just a month or two back?
Can the new scores be affected by prior scores?

@srp-if what you are saying were true, then people wouldn't be taking the same section multiple times. The prior scores do not affect your current ones…If you study, you will pass. Looking for conspiracy theories is a waste of time.
