Hi All, first time poster. I’m excited to get going in this community as it looks like everyone is here to help each other which is great.

Upon diving into studying for the exam I see the format for FAR is 2 testlets of 33 MCQ’s each, followed by 2 TBS testlet, 15 min break, and then 3 TBS & 3 TBS testlets to finish. I was curious if each TBS just one question? Example: Being given a list about switching inventory methods and then completing necessary journal entries. Does that count as 1 TBS? Or is 1 TBS consist of multiple different questions? If so there are a few that could take longer than the allotted 15 minutes per TBS, but some that would probably take a lot less than that. Can anyone confirm? Thank you!

a TBS can be considered like a short answer. it can be comprised several drop-downs, fill in the blank, or even a choice. it is recommended that you spend 15 minutes per TBS in order to allot sufficient time for the rest of the exam.

lets say your TBS requires you to perform journal entries, it could be one or multiple in one TBS. even single part counts as a point, even the ones that may or may not require you to put 0 or blank.

Thank you for your help. I'm relieved that each TBS is just one TBS. Even though I know some are more time sensitive than other “fill in the blank” style one's.

The way they test the Sims is interesting. Some of the easiest Sims I have seen on an exam, will take the longest. On my AUD exam, I had 1 sim that was by far the easiest Sim I ever had, but it took me 30 minutes to complete. I am almost certin that I got 100% on that Sim, but I burned a lot of much needed time in doing so.

A hard sim might only take 5 minutes, but there is a good chance you will struggle with which numbers to include/exclude.

Agreed . I had 5 DRS's on FAR and actually thought the 2 that weren't DRS were the toughest but they were the shortest.

@Cruzer You had 5 DRS's??? Holy smokes… how is that even possible to finish everything? My thought was they would only throw in 1 of those, maybe 2.

@CoachEmUp tell me about it. They take a lot of time to sort through the information let alone answering what they want you to. It was definitely not what I was expecting but overall I feel pretty confident on the SIMS.
