FAR Troubled Debt – Answers not consistent with material?

    Hi all –

    This has been driving me insane the last week. I’ve received 3 questions on TDR with Ninja and I have gotten 2 wrong. Under TDR my Roger book states that you recognize a gain/loss on the difference between the CV of debt and FMV of asset given up. Additionally you recognize a gain/loss on the difference between the FMV of asset given up and the BV of the asset.

    Questions: 497, 815, and 816 in Ninja deal with TDR. I uploaded PDF to https://ufile.io/pf6eg if anyone doesn’t mind taking a look. It makes no sense why one question would be done one way, and an identical question is being done the other way with no explanation. Maybe I am just losing it with 11 days to go…
