Hello all, I have some questions regarding Florida’s CPA requirements.

I know the course/work requirements but I want to know the following:

    – While I can sit for the exam by the time of my graduation, I believe there will be one or two more accounting classes that I need post exam.
Do universities allow individual accounting classes to be taken to achieve these upper-level
requirements? Or must I enroll in a masters program?
    – Additionally, I have known people who have taken the exam in another state and used Florida’s reciprocity rules to get their CPA transferred after several years of work.
Are there any further requirements to do so besides working under a licensed CPA for 5 years?

Thank you all for your help!

As a CPA you will be required to look up, interpret and clarify minutia and code on a daily basis. I would suggest that this is an excellent time to practice those skills 😉

I looked at FLA's reciprocity rules, and they were a pain in the arse if you want to open a practice. It was more lenient working for others. I don't recall the rules…but that was my take away.

At the University of South Florida you can enroll as a non-degree seeking student.
