    Hi FASB Gurus
I am taking too much time for research question in FAR and still probably choose wrong codes.
Can someone please help me out to use the FASB tools and solve the research question of FAR?
    Thanks in advance.

The research questions are really an exercise in a search engine. You know how to use your favorite search engine, this one is a bit more specific. It behaves differently in how it finds specific words and phrases.

Step 1: analyze the question – what exact word or short phrase (2 to 3 words) do you need to research?
Step 2: go to the “advanced” tab and search “exact terms” (I forget the exact wording they use) but there's an “all words” and I believe “exclude words” and I think even exact phrase. I think the “all words” one is the best.
Step 3: There should be a reasonable number of results that you can now scan through. If not, then step 4.
Step 4: If there were too many results – think of a refining word in the question and add that.
Step 5: If there were no results, think of your search words and think of synonyms to those words that may appear in a codified doc.

Practice practice practice is the key.

As many times as I have taken and failed theses tests, I never thought about practicing the research questions. Reading others experiences suggested that the research was so easy, so I thought it was no need to practice it. Hmm. Well you learn a lot from these informative posts. Thanks M123.
