[CPA Exam] After reading some MCQs, I quickly think about how the test maker might want to trick me, then make sure the question's wording is not asking about the trick.

[interview] Last question to ask: Do you have concerns about my background or experience to perform well on this job?

If they list it out, start explaining why those won't be issues.

[CPA EXAM]: Make sure you flag the simulations you don't answer. I didn't do that and I thought I answered them all to my surprise i didn't 🙁

[CPA Exam] Read the ending part of the question, to know what type of answer/information the question is asking. Then Re-Read the entire question again, looking for information to be used to answer the question.

Do as many past exam questions as possible. Go over hard questions at least 3 times.

[CPA EXAM]: They give you 10 minutes before the actual exam to agree with their terms and conditions and this time does not count towards your actual testing time. During these 10 minutes, write down as much ratios and mnemonics onto the provided noteboards to help you out if you get stuck on questions later on in the test.

[CPA Exam] Read the last sentence of the question first then go back and read the whole paragraph of the question. Having a gist of the actual question helps you not get bogged down in all the random words they throw in there.

[CPA Exam] You are given 10 minutes prior to starting each live exam. Leading up to your exam write down any difficult key points or formulas that worry you. Re-write it several times over and then spend the first 5-7 minutes in the exam re-writing all of it on your note board before beginning the exam. I suggest 5-7 minutes so that you are careful not to exceed the 10 minute time restriction. There's no better feeling than getting stuck on a question in testlet 3 before realizing you have the formula right in front of you.

[CPA Exam] If you are struggling with a question, pick the answer that doesn't fit with the rest of the answer group—the odd one out. More than likely that will be the correct answer. This obviously is only useful for conceptual type questions, not computational. Works extremely well with AUD.

    {CPA Exam}:

I tend to think the first 5 or 6 questions are designed to scare you and be harder, so I start from question 10 (or the middle) on every test-let and go back to the first 9 after I finish the others.

[Interview] when they ask you if you have any questions for them at the end of the interview; make sure to have at least one, but before you ask it; re-sell yourself “I do have a question, but before I ask that, I just want to note that I feel I'm the best candidate for this position…” and just give a brief overview. It will wrap up everything you told them in a nice package. (My husband did this 2 times and BOTH times got the job).

[CPA Exam] 1. After you get through a few topics of a section, go back and review them with 20 question MC quizzes to keep information fresh. 2. Before you begin your exam, write down how much time you can spend on each testlet to ensure you stick to a time budget and give yourself enough time to finish the exam. 3. Be confident!!!! (Can't stress that enough!)
