    hi ninja family,

I am almost 2 weeks into REG studying and I find myself so lost in everything. I scored in the low 30s and 40s in my study sessions. REG just has so many little things to do. How did you tackle it ? it would be so cool to hear different opinions from ninja family. Happy New Year everyone

    Happy New Year!

Try to not let it bother you, it's part of the overwhelming process to feel that way. It's normal. There are a lot of rules and a lot of exceptions. In my experience, skim the book, watch the lectures on 1.5x to 2.0x speed. Get the gist of the topic and keep the questions to 5 to 10 MCQ per session. Take baby steps. Focus on getting into the groove instead of focusing on “omg 25% why am I so bad at this.”

It made a big difference for me.

Your last 2 weeks were holidays, you'll shake that off soon.

you're fine. I feel like you just want to get the last one done. Stay confident.

Find different ways to learn the material. I made up my own study sheets for deductions, all the differences between corporations/partnerships, any other topic I was struggling with and just studied those until I basically had them memorized.
Sometimes you gotta just keep doing the same thing until the material sticks. Keep your head up though! There were several days during my studying where I was convinced there was no way I would pass REG because I couldn't seem to get it, but if you put the time and effort in, you'll do fine.

You have to hang tough. You are only a couple of weeks in and it's a big body of knowledge. I found the lectures very helpful for most items in REG, so make sure you are doing those and following up soon after with some practice questions. Get around 200 questions under your belt before you establish a baseline, then work on your weak areas. Going over your incorrect answers and finding out for yourself why you were wrong and why the correct answer was correct is HUGE. Mainly just keep at it.

@Felixsphone Thanks for bringing up the idea of watching the lectures at 1.5 or 2x speed. I had never thought to do that. I initially wanted to tackle REG after I passed FAR, but I could not for the life of me get through the video lectures on Wiley without wanting to take a nap. It was so bad I dropped REG and moved onto AUD and BEC. I have now watched videos at the increased speed and I believe I might be able to get through them without falling asleep! Thanks!
