Gleim Final Review

I started my Gleim final review this past Monday for my FAR exam on Saturday. I took the exam rehearsal and got a 79 (82 MCQ & 77 SIM). The Gleim system recommends that I follow their final review which is going thru the units that they deem I need extra review in. However, I feel like I learn better by just doing study sessions…thoughts? Anyone else using Gleim for FAR and in a similar situation or have any past experiences with this. Thanks!

For my final review in Gleim for FAR I got a 75 on the practice exam and a 79 on the actual exam. I just ran through MCQs on topics I was weaker on pretty heavily and a quick review of the topics I was stronger on. So I agree with the study sessions approach. You'll do fine.

On the FAR Gleim rehearsal exam I got a 77. 77 MCQs and 77 Sims. My CPA FAR exam actual was 92. I did some of the final review but did not finish. I did about 700 MCQs in the study session the week before the exam. I think doing tons of MCQs in the study session and then re-reading/re-visiting the chapters you are weak in is a good strategy.

For comparison, on Gleim AUD I made a 84 on the exam rehearsal. 91 MCQs, 76 Sims. I did finish the final review for AUD and did 640 study session MCQs the week before the exam. My CPA AUD exam actual was a 92.

I think you are on the right track.

I decided to skip the final review myself. I just did MCQ's based on all sections and self-identified which areas I needed more work in. Then I custom tailored the study sessions to those units. I think it worked out well but we'll see when I take the FAR exam tomorrow.

    FAR - 97 (10/12/17)
    BEC - 95 (01/15/18)
    AUD - 88 (04/06/18)
    REG - 89 (11/16/18)

I used Gleim exclusively and passed all four on the first attempt. For three of the sections I didn't even do the final review. I did the MCQ over, and over, and over, and over again. I didn't just try to memorize answers either. I always went though in my mind for each question why it was the correct answer, or why I got the answer wrong.

Gleim is a great product, and I feel that their questions were more difficult than the real test.
