A few months ago I made a post asking about CPA certificate timeline in Illinois. It seemed that some took 11 days to receive license number, while another took 18 days.

Also I received an ad letter inviting me to join Illinois CPA society. For CPE purposes, is it worthwhile to join?

Depending on where you work, your firm might be able to get you all the CPE's you need through trainings and e-learning.

I let my AICPA and state society memberships lapse now that I'm out of the Big 4 (my firm required it) and moved into private.

I was a member of the AICPA for seven years and New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and I still have no idea value they were supposed to bring to the table. I found memberships in the AICPA and NYSSCPA to be completely useless and a waste of money.

@Edward I passed my last exam in June and was issued the certificate number July 2nd, but it took a while for the mail to get here.

It's just the mail transport. I live outside US.

Oh ok. Yea I was in the 9/11 release and still haven't been issued a certificate number. They say to give 2-3 weeks but everyone i know received theirs within days of the score release.
