    Hello Everyone,

Feels good to be here. I passed all 4 exams in December 2017 and have not been on this space since then. But I need help:

    – I took my exams under Alaska Jurisdiction which requires 2 years for licensing and was advised that I can transfer my scores to NY because NY only requires 1 year of work experience for licensing. I have met the other requirements such as Educational requirements for both states.

    – I am in the process of starting the NY application and have paid for my scores to be transferred but I want to make sure I am on the right track because $377 is a lot of money.

Has anyone done this before, do you have any advice?

    Amen 🙂

Where are you going to be working?
NY application is pretty straight forward, besides the wait time.
You do Form 1, your employer does form 4.

Yes, I transferred scores into NYS. You need to complete NYS CPA Form 3, send the completed form to Alaska office of professions (or where their CPA licensing is centralized). Alaska will then send the Form directly to NYS, which is filed until you send Form 1, Form 2 and Form 4. https://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/cpa/cpa3.pdf
Follow the directions on Form 3 and you should have no problems. It can take a while to process so you need to call Alaska every week or so to make sure they received the Form from you and then forwarded the Form to NYS.
You can send Form 3 before any of the other forms. I think its like $25 bucks for exam score transfer payable to Alaska, but you should call Alaska and ask how much it is, or it could be on their website, which should be around the same fee.
Your main area of concern is around the Education Requirement. NYS has a list of approved, accredited accounting programs. You need to make sure that you are covered for 150 credit hours under NYS education requirements.

    Thank you @DM

The information you provided is very helpful. Just a few follow up questions and clarifications.

    1. From my understanding, I have to complete Form 3 and send to Alaska CPA office, then Alaska's office will send directly to New York. I already paid the $25 via the NASBA website but yet to fill the Form 3. Also you mentioned calling Alaska to follow up, do you by nay chance still have the number?

    2. The other forms should be sent directly to NY State right and the $377 application fee or so.

    3. Do you have more information of NY's educational requirements? I completed 150 hours but at a school in Louisiana.

    Thank youu
