How do I deal with the 2 week FAR wait? - Page 2

    Well, I took FAR yesterday. I went in well prepared this time. It was a rough exam. First testlet was medium, of course. Second one felt like it got harder. The third one either stayed hard or I had no clue. I know that it did not get easier.

    Compared to my first crack at FAR, this test was night and day. First exam was DEFINITELY easier. But that was because I didn’t do well and kept getting medium testlets. I looked at the questions and could have answered them if I had studied. They were basic questions.

    This exam was tough. I feel weird saying this because I was well prepared. I thought if I was well prepared I would feel confidant. I don’t.

    It could really go either way. December 9th feels years away..

    Any advice for staying sane during the waiting period??? This is my last chance at FAR before I lose AUD.

    @Rocky I'm also in the same boat. I took FAR on Saturday and if I don't pass I lose AUD. These next 2 weeks are going to be killer but at least it's Thanksgiving and celebrating the holidays might be a distraction. Good Luck!!

    Good luck!! Let us know how it goes!!

    @ebimbo

    What was your FAR experience like?

    @Jilly

    My SIMS were tough too. Hoping to get lots of partial for journal entries. How do you feel that you did on the multiple choice?

    I'm glad everyone thinks their SIMS were tough…makes me feel a little better.

    @Rocky- is this your last test?

    @Jilly- is this your last test?

    I guess I'm just going to have to wait until Dec 9th, to really plan out my January testing

    HOPEFULLY the last test. If I pass FAR, I'm done. If not, I lose credit for AUD. Stakes are high…

    I took it yesterday as well and I am just going to chill out for the time being. It was my first exam so I don't have a time crunch due to expiring credit. I figure if I fail on the 9th, I will order a new NTS that day, study for another three weeks, and then take it at the beginning of January. I can't bring myself to hit the books hard for an exam that I feel I didn't BOMB completely. Really hoping the 15 or so questions that I flagged were all the pre-test!! :))

    MD Candidate: 10/1/14

    FAR - 87 (11/23/14)
    REG - 87 (1/30/15)
    BEC - 89 (4/19/15)
    AUD - 98 (5/30/15)

    Ethics - 100

    I thought my first section of MCQ was medium, second was hard, third was medium (“easy” is not part of my vocabulary for FAR!) There were several instances where I had virtually the same question asked, only worded a little bit different, across the testlets. My SIMs were crazy, though. When I got to the SIMs, I scanned through them quickly just to see what all of the topics were…and got excited because there was nothing on there that I did not study. But then, man, I started working them. I may have understood the topic, but the way they worded the questions was ridiculous. I know I at least got the research question right, so that's something : I'm usually a pretty fast test taker, but this one took me right up until the last few minutes to complete.

    Sadly, no, this is not my final test. I still have REG and BEC to go, but luckily still have plenty of time to get them all knocked out.

    Good luck to everyone!

    Yeah, I'm not ready to restart studying for FAR either. I feel I have a chance at least. That has to be a good sign, right? First time I took FAR I was ready to restudy. And I should have. I did fail it that time.
