I noticed that FAR is the thickest book among 4 sections. AS the years pass by, I assume AICPA will be adding more and more materials. Main question is how far it will go? Do you guys think AICPA should cut down or eliminate some topics from FAR sections like Pensions, Government and non-profit? I mean these days how many companies offer pension plan? how many accountants have to do government or non-profit accounting? For my undergrad. they didn’t even offer government accounting class. Just wondering what do you guys think about insane amount of material of FAR section?

Honestly, I could only imagine the material getting bigger, not less. I have no idea why they even include bc it is pretty rare to find it these days. Gov't and NFP is not going away, however, NFP did get lumped to the other sections for the FAR CSO. Though they are testing a new version, maybe they'll use that to evaluate if it's necessary to condense the sections in FAR.
