How is SIMs Scored?

Hi, I went through a pair of SIMs for Becker chapter 1 (FAR) and even though I thought I boomed them, the “scores” were still ok (Above 75). I was just wondering if for Becker, the SIMs actually scored by the answers or merely a % of completion of the SIMS (there were cells that I should have answered but I didn’t).

Also, I saw a lot people say they “completed screwed” their SIMs in the actual exams but ended up passing so they recommanded mainly focusing on MCQs when practicing. What are the metrics for scoring SIMS in the actuals exams?

The only information the AICPA gives is they say the MCQ score weighting is 50% and the task-based simulations are 50% with the exception of BEC which is 50% MCQ, 35% task-based simulations, 15% written communication.
Anyone who tells you they know how points are allocated within the sims is bullshitting you.
From my own experience, I would recommend you study simulations just to learn the format. If you're lucky, you'll see similar simulation questions on your exam. I did.

@Bacon, first of all, cool name. Yeah I found SIM practices to be a good way to get a glance of the stuff taught in that chapter. It helped me identify which areas of the chapters I still needed to improve on.
