Just curious, how long it takes for you to watch all videos of one chapter (FAR ) of Becker’s ? I am feeling it’s taking forever.
    I am taking 2 days.

LOL-my study schedule is one chapter a week, but I work full time and have a family so couldn't do more than that.. So more like 1-2 modules a day….

I prayed the Olinto Prayer a few times. It goes like this – “please let Olinto be the instructor for the next video”. At least then I knew I was going to take copious notes and maybe laugh once or twice. He explains, too! Many disappointed moments, however.

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 77
    REG - 81
REG - 1. Becker only - fail (forgot to study depr - oops); 2. Becker only - Pass
FAR - 1. Becker only - fail; 2. added Ninja Notes and MCQ - Pass
AUD - 1. Becker videos; Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass
BEC - 1. Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass

I think the total amount of videos (not including skills practice) per Becker chapter is about 4 hours, usually just under. BUT this doesn't include the time it takes for you to pause the video, take notes, rewind, etc. So it always took me 2 or 2.5 nights to do videos alone. For retakes I've skipped the videos because of the time suck.

One of the things that really pleased me was the ability to speed the video in the new 2017 format. I think I went to 1.25x as 1.5x was too fast to take notes but 25% faster is 25% faster!

    Hi guys,

I passed FAR on 3rd quarter of year 2017, not finishing the 2 simulations. I left the prometric center depressed knowing that I failed my first exam. I knew that my MCQs are strong, but the simulations are very time consuming, too many attached documents to read first before you can answer the questions.

I'm sharing my experience to let others know not to repeat my mistakes. Manage your time properly, and practice more questions and simulations for you to handle the actual exam better.

God bless on your review future CPAs.

Too long. At least they got rid of Angie Brown (I think). Worst professor I’ve ever had. Literally drove me crazy during BEC. O’linto is pretty good and Gearty is decent. Michael Brown is okay. It’s hard to figure out what is minutia and what is important.

    Goodluck.

@M123-I say the Peter Olinto prayer all the time. Seriously get excited when he is about to do a lecture-what is wrong with me? 🙂
For videos, what I do a lot of times is listen to them in the car and then when I am ready to do the MCQ, I go through the book and only re-listen to the parts with examples or where I totally missed the explanation. This way I don't feel like I am chained to a desk. If I had to sit with a book and go through it their way it would be super painful.

I did add up each individual video's length when I was preparing to study for an exam. Let's say that it was FAR 30 hours, REG 25 hours, Aud and BEC 20 hours each. That's 95 hours of video.

An average TV series season is 22 episodes of 44 minutes each (less now with cable). So 95 hours = 5700 minutes = 129.5 “episodes” of TV = almost 6 seasons of a series!

We are “binge watching” what amounts to an entire series with Becker video. One is bound to become attached to the “characters” of the “show”, as sad as that is. And it's quite sad 😀
