For those that have taken FAR test, how much is IFRS is tested on the FAR test? I am using Willey CPA study and they are constantly comparing IFRS to GAAP. Is it tested that heavily?

I don't remember seeing any IFRS on FAR but it's been two months since I took it. Maybe there were a couple MCQs. Obviously it varies what you get on it, so whatever the blueprint says is possible you should prepare for.

    AUD - 85
    BEC - 92
    FAR - 84
    REG - 88
I've found an anomaly in the Space-Time Continuum. NASBA and the AICPA are in the 19th century. They use slide rules to score the exam, and then they send the scores by Pony Express to the State Boards. That's why it takes so long for them to do a score release.

I honestly had 2-3 MCQs and that's it. Just my exam experience…

    FAR - 80 (4/1/2019)

    BEC - 82 (9/7/2019)

    AUD - 81 (11/23/2019)

    REG - 94 (3/9/2020)

It's been a while since I've taken it but I only had a couple of questions on it. Over half of my test was Governmental questions and I was not prepared for that at all and I've seen that be the case with others so watch out for that.

I got a few IFRS MCQs and I got a freakin IFRS SIM!!! I suspect that was a pretest question though.

    B - 94 - 09/2019

    A - 86 - 04/2019

    R - 83 - 08/2019

    F - 90 - 05/2019

Thank you for everyone reply. 1-3 mcq is not a big deal and can take “educated” guess. SIM would be a killer but i hope i do not get one. I actually do not mind gov accounting so maybe i can get that instead 🙂

Know the 10 or so main differences (LIFO, inventory write ups, goodwill, etc.) and you will be good. I think I had zero questions on it, but I really don’t remember.

I don't remember the MCQ but I did have an IFRS sim. Pretty simple.
I was so irritated with the IFRS and GAAP comparisons. Barely could remember GAAP lol

Like all reviews mention, study the main differences between IFRS and GAAP. It is not necessary to spend more time on it than you would Gov't / NFP, but its worth the study because it can be free points. I preferred a filling out a notecard or two mentioning the differences.

It is on there but I would hardly call it substantial. My recommendation is as you are going along, indicate in a separate notebook or however you take notes IFRS treatment vs GAAP. I would say what I’ve seen both times I took it is that only high level stuff was tested.

    AUD - 87
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 78
    REG - 87

I has 2-3 MCQs and 1 SIM on IFRS. A friend of mine took his exam like 9mo before me and he said he about the same. Be prepared for something similar.

I've taken FAR a couple of times at this point (unfortunately). There's usually been 2-3 multiple choice questions on each exam that I've taken, BUT I distinctly remember getting SIMS on IFRS. So if you think you can skip studying for it, and end up with a whole SIM on that, it will devastate you. They don't always put a SIM on it though. Depends how lucky you get.
