How necessary/helpful are the skills practice segments (Becker) for you guys?

I just began studying for Audit using the new Becker material and noticed a new segment called skills practice which in all honesty just seems like an extra portion which I’m not sure if I’m finding that much more helpful.

Maybe there are some of you who have been using it for a while now and can better explain if it’s worth it or not? Any input would be helpful, thanks!

The lectures for me are basically to write in my book and maybe catch a little of what the chapter is over and key words. The skills practice is actually where the key concepts are talked about with a little practical practice before the MCQ. It's an awesome reminder of the important parts in the material. Before redoing all the problems, I will watch the skills practice again.

I think the skills practice kinda emphasizes what the important parts are in each lecture. It's a nice little thing to refresh – kind of like video passkeys.

I am not sure on how necessary they are, but I find them helpful because I am struggle with simulations and I feel like they walk you through their thought process on how to solve them.

The skills practices are my favorite part of Becker – it seems to take the most complicated items and spell it out for you.
Some of them seem to be a bit of a waste of time but I found the SP on the stmt of CF, non-mon exchanges and bonds particularly helpful.

I'm going to be the person who says "I finished even though..." not the person who says "I didn't finish because..."

    B - 77, 76

I love the Skill Practice. I personally wait to complete them 2-3 days before my exam because it's a good review of all the key topics. It mentally tough to wait that long to compeleré it because Skills Practive hold a lot of weight in the percent of completion so you always think you are not studying enough because you have not completed any steps. You will have to see “not on track” for a while but it's such a great review.

    AUD - 73,
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training
Giving up is not an option.

The question is not whether I will be a CPA or not, the question is when will I become a CPA.

I need to pass before busy season.

I read the Becker book for both AUD and REG and did not watch lectures or do skills practice. It seems like it would be valuable for topics that are harder to understand, but I would have only done them if I had extra time at the end of studying.
