I am currently studying for my first section AUD, and I am unclear on exactly how to study. Should I watch vide, then read or vice versa. I just need help on creating an effective study plan. I take the exam November 2, 2016.

This is Becker I assume? I did the videos for FAR and then never again for AUD and BEC. They are a waste of time and regret doing it for FAR. However, if something unclear (ie. memoronics or calculation) then by all means watch the video for that page

Figuring out how to study was the HARDEST thing for me. It's not like a college class that you can cram the whole semester before the final. Here's what I had to learn:
    1. Accept that you probably forgot all what you learned in school. It's okay.
    2. You will more then likely fail the mc the first and seceond go around.
    3. You don't need to know everything.
    4. The questions you get during the exam is basically luck.
    5. No one has EVER felt confident walking out of the exam. I thought I failed AUD the most of the 3 sections and ended up being my highest score.

With that said, for me, Repetition! Repetition! Repetition!
    1. I first opened the eBook and copied the highlights and writings exactly into my book. This helped get a rough idea of what going on and also make it easier when I read the chapter the first time because they identify the most important material.
    2. I would open the general outline Becker gives for the chapter and read 1 section at a time AND then read the section in the book. I made my own notecards and reviewed a good portion every morning.
    3. I would do half the mc for that section THEN move on to the next section and repeat.
NOTE: Only move on if you are fairly comfortable with the section.
    4. I would then reread the outline and finish up the other half of the mc.
NOTE: I would check the box on questions I felt were important/unsure/wrong for later quick review.
    5. Before I start on a new chapter, I would take reread the general outline 10 mc progress test for that/each chapter.
    6. Once finished, I would restart and read a section in the book again, then do either all the mc or just the ones I checked off.
    7. I stopped taking the Becker Final reviews because It didn't help me as much. But others may feel different. 4 days before the test, Instead a reread a chapter did the amount of mc I felt necessary and moved on. I would do 3 chapters a day.

I refined this process through each test and this is what worked for me.

    What I would focus on:
    1. Don't neglect chap 6. Know the chart that explains the differences between all the standards/ethics. I had a lot of those for IFAC and labor.
    2. Understand the sampling concepts in chap 5 that change sample size.
    3. Non-Issuers vs issuers with SSARS vs SAS vs PCAOB
    4. MGMT vs Auditor responsibilities
    5. When to use what procedures
