Who else has 7 days until your FAR exam? and what are y’all doing to review at this point?

From what I’ve read, I think it’s normal to feel unprepared and nervous. I have finished Becker and have been reviewing for about 2 weeks now. I still haven’t finished the Final Becker Review, which I intend to finish over the weekend. While reviewing, I watched all of Bob Monette’s lectures which I find very helpful. However, I have not worked on any of the Ninja MCQ’s that I’ve purchased. I’ve been focusing more on studying and reviewing the notes. I plan on taking the Becker Mock Exam on Tuesday and spend the 2 days after Tuesday just working on Ninja MCQ’s, hopefully around 200-300 questions on Ninja. Then spend the last day just resting and reviewing some notes. What do you think? I know I should have definitely taken advantage of the Ninja MCQs, instead I reworked all of F1-F7 MCQs and averaged around 74. I’m hoping that the Mock Exam grade will be better. Also, when I briefly looked at some of the AICPA questions which I intend to work on later, it seems A LOT easier than the Becker MCQs.

I’ve studied so much for this to make sure I pass since I start FT work beginning in January and I don’t think I can study any more than I have if I fail. I would really appreciate some encouragements, kind words, and tips on reviewing, testing, etc.. I hope everybody here will do well on their exams, hear the good news and have a Merry Christmas.

I take FAR on Monday and I'm trying not to panic! I'm using Becker (not the final review) and I feel like I have a good grasp on certain topics but then others are still completely confusing to me. The Becker mock exam was brutal for me, but I'm trying to stay hopeful!

    FAR - 78

    AUD - 75

    BEC - 83

    REG - 82

Honestly, hammer out the NINJA MCQs, hard. A week is plenty of time to do so if you're not working full-time and if you've already been reviewing. It will give you a great overview on your strengths and weaknesses and still give you a little time to brush up on the weaker areas. Best of luck to both of you!

    Same – exam is Friday.

Been working on MCQ. Trending about 73% with 50% correct. Plan to start doing the SIMS to fine tune weaknesses.

5 more study days to go!…..

what does trending at 73% with 50% correct mean…are the ninja mcq's weighted depending on difficulty or something?

FAR's on Tuesday for me and I'm just too burnt out to keep on cramming at this point — gonna settle for only 150 MCQ's today, tomorrow and Monday. Averaging ~85% on MCQ sets over the last 2 weeks and just hit 80 on a mock exam, so hopefully that'll be enough to carry me to a 75.

@scattershot 80 on the Becker Mock Exam is very good! How many questions in total have you worked on Ninja MCQ?

Sadly it's a Roger 80, not a Becker 80. There's no data out there correlating Roger mock scores with actual scores 🙁

No Ninja MCQ yet, I'm strictly using Roger for FAR — I've done all ~1800 MCQ and seen them 2-3x, if not more. I'll probably end up grabbing Ninja MCQ access for AUD though, I paid 0 attention in audit.

I am also using Roger and after my first exam I switched to Ninja for MCQ. I honestly think it was the determining factor between a pass and fail for me – Crossing my fingers I have the same luck here for FAR. I felt the Ninja MCQ overall mimicked what I see on the exam – Roger MCQs felt like they were just out to trick me – and I have not seen much of that in the actual exam to date.

    BEC – Roger
REG – Ninja MCQ (Roger Lectures)
AUD – Ninja MCQ (Roger Lectures)
FAR – same as above 🙂

That's good to know…the AICPA released questions are pretty easy, and I imagine they make up a huge chunk of the question banks for ALL the prep courses. From what I've heard, Becker is similar — Becker/Roger questions are tougher than the real thing because they have tricks and gotchas that the real exam doesn't, but conversely the actual sims are much, much tougher than anything Roger has.

Yea, those trick questions are there bc they want u to know the stuff and when you can catch them u are pretty solid. I just got annoyed 🙂 I do still go back to Roger MCQ but it def not as thorough as I do with Ninja. Now if only I could figure out away to be SIM ready….. 🙂

Did you do practice exams for BEC/REG/AUD in Roger? If so, did they matchup with your actual scores?

Yes!! I have FAR on December 8th…I have to review chapter 10 tomorrow but I have been reviewing past chapters because there is soooo much I haven't seen in weeks. Honestly, I am not sure if I will pass. I haven't done a full review of all of the chapters (Using Becker) yet which scares me 🙁 I like to have at 1 detailed go around of the book (notes, homeworks, sims), then a second review of the lectures, repeat HW, skills practices, and then my last review is usually just concepts I want to review one more time before test day because they require memorization or just aren't sticking in my brain.

I took government & NFP and advanced accounting in college so luckily most of the FAR material is stuff I've seen and studied and had been tested on but ugh, I hate pensions please don't give me pension problems on the real test AICPA :(.

At this point I am just going to finish chapter 10 (in becker), finish reviewing chapter 3 because i haven't looked at it in a month, and then I guess I'll pick and choose some concepts I think will be most important for the exam and cram as much as I can over the next few days. I really want my life back!!!!!! Thankfully there is an element of luck in these tests!!

Practice exams, no… I have bad case of ADHD and I only do 10 questions at a time – plus I try to understand why I got answer wrong in between questions. My mock exams are saved for exam day 🙂 But through out the day since I have been diligent in my studying I have been doing 100s of questions per day – some grasping the knowledge enabling me to get it correct next time but there are some that I continuously get wrong – this is the reason I am so scared for this exam!!

But 5 study days remain so some additional info has to click!! 🙂

Good luck to you too!!! I am the same every time I do a becker mock exam I just stop after 5 questions because I want to immediately know how I did!! That or they intimidate me 🙂 They can also be good if you are feeling like you want to slack off and you want to see where you stand.

I think you guys have got this 🙂 Also, don't forget you only need a 75 so if you've adequately reviewed and yet you still feel behind, you'll probably pass!
