The pressue is getting to me. I’m ready to explode. I have one more section: FAR

My exam is weeks away and I’m so sick of the stress. I can’t take it anymore.

I took a break and didn’t study yesterday. I don’t think I’m going to last until exam time. i want to take this exam now and just end it. Let the chips fall where they may.

Stay off the CPA ledge! You're way too close to give up now. You can do this!

    REG: 7/11/14 - 80
    BEC: 8/19/14 - 86
    FAR: 10/17/14 - 84
    AUD: 11/22/14 - 77

    4 up, 4 down!

I'm going to say this as nicely as possible, but I think you need a real-life outlet… bad. This must be the fourth or fifth thread you have created about stress, pressure, home-life, relationships, etc. etc. I have been very involved with multiple online communities in my life and they have great benefits, but this thread really makes me think you need to deal with some issues in your real, non A71/CPA life. Sorry if that comes across as harsh or offensive, but its my honest $.02.

Last exam will turn into 2 more, …3 more and starting from scratch. Use the extra time to master tough subjects or nfp and govt to ensure the pass!

You can do it, we can do it! I'm taking 2 exams this quarter and i have to keep reminding myself that i can do this. My brain was totally fried 2 weeks ago from studying/ taking Reg. I took a week off and I'm getting ready for BEC. When you feel you can't keep going, take a day off, sleep, get out, do something fun and then get back to it. And remember why you're doing it…

    I completely feel you.

Taking FAR in two weeks and BEC at the end of November.

My company is purchasing 5 new properties, they were supposed to close in December.

They told me yesterday they were all closing before Thanksgiving. I just started crying…. that has never happened to me before at work.

It's only a test. A silly test, which in the grand scheme of things, means nothing. The CPA exam doesn't define you as a person, a husband/wife, a father/mother, or anything else. It just proves you can pass the test.

If this test is stressing you out to this extreme, I'm not certain how you will be able to deal with real world problems which are much more important than this silly exam.

You'll be fine, we all face a brief time of thinking that we won't make it but we do.

But honestly a person's attitude toward a challenge is EVERYTHING. If you keep telling yourself its too much to handle, and that you're going to snap, you will.

If you tell yourself over and over again that its tough but you are tougher, you will be and it won't seem so completely overwhelming.

I think your internal dialogue is dictating your response to the stress.

    Thanks for everyone's $.02.

As some mentioned above, I do have trouble dealing with stress.

I think I need time away from this forum and focus on the exam. Thanks again.

It is a tough adventure we are all on. Life can get you feeling the same way, this test is just a part of that adventure. Some days/weeks/years are awfully hard, but when you get that break, you realize how much better off you are for it.

As the other Rocky once said…

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all

sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean, and nasty place an' no matter how

tough you think you are, it'll always beat you if you let it. It ain't about

how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward,

how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! If

you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you

gotta be willing to take the hits and not pointin' fingers saying you ain’t

where you wanna be because of him, her, or anybody! Cowards do that, and that

ain’t you! You’re better than that!”

I didn't feel stress about these exams until I joined this forum. I didn't care about score release. I wasn't at my computer F5ing and giving myself ulcers and anxiously awaiting the scores of my study group mates, as well as my own. But I also felt really alone in this process so I stay on the forum for camaraderie in spite of the heightened stress. It can be a great place because so many people are going through the same things, but it can also be a “misery loves company” environment, which isn't very healthy. If you already have issues dealing with stress then you really may want to stay off the forum for a while, just re-prioritize, remind yourself why your are doing this, and then get back to it. You've passed 3. You can pass FAR. Just focus on you and not on all of this. Reading about other people's struggles with the exam helps some and hurts others. Since you state that you don't deal well with stress then this may not be the best place for you right now. Come back after the test and give us some GOOD news. 🙂
