I Don't Know What I'm Doing Wrong

I got a 66 on FAR the first time. I just got my score back last night and I got a 73. That is an improvement, but I don’t understand what I am doing wrong. Studying for the second time, I felt like I really refined what I was unsure of the first time. I walked in feeling confident, and I walked out feeling pretty good about it. Apparently there is a critical gap in my knowledge or approach, but I have done the same thing I did to pass BEC and AUD. Has anyone been in a similar situation that can share what helped? Or does anybody know of anything else to help supplement my studying? I am using Becker.
I am going to take REG next, to try to put some space between me and FAR. I am thinking that will help me approach it with a more refreshed perspective? I am also planning to buy Ninja for these last two, just in case that can show me something that I am not aware I am missing with Becker. But any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I failed FAR hard this quarter so take my advice with a grain of salt. Look at your score report, where does it show your weakness? My guess would be SIMS but I could be wrong. I wouldn't say you have a critical gap in knowledge with a 73. You just need a little refinement. I took FAR Feb 1st and ever since, I've been studying AUD. I was slated to take REG next but I'm switching it to FAR. The reason is because there is just too much info that I know and I think a time gap to forget what I know is not a good thing. Just because you were close doesn't mean you should skimp on the study hours for re-take. With FAR, you cannot study what they hit you hard with, because the other attempts, you could get tested on entirely different topics. Some get slammed with Business consolidations. Some get slammed with pension. Some get slammed Adjusting entries. Almost everyone gets slammed with Govt/NFP. So, you cannot just scope in and hope. You need to know it all. So study with a clean slate. If you don't, you might get bit again. Your weaknesses will be revealed through MCQ. I think Ninja supplementation will help you. Good luck!

    BEC - PASS

    FAR - PASS

    AUD - PASS

    REG - PASS

BOOM!  JUST LIKE THAT, I GOT MY LIFE BACK!  =D

    Using Becker self-study
    FAR: (82) 175 hours - 1st attempt
    BEC: (XX)
    AUD: (69) 45hrs of study - 1st attempt
    REG: (XX)

Hi! Don't feel bad, I bombed it twice, first time 57, then 73, then 57, then 72…finally found out I passed this morning and I'm done! Here's what pushed me over the 73 – Gleim. GLeim has harder SIMS and mcqs and it just works as far as FAR goes LOL. I have the name of a sales rep of theirs who actually called me this morning to see how I was doing, if you want the info. Let me know. I can email it to you or something 😉

A lot of people would feel that what I did was an overkill since all you need is a 75, but I put in a minimum of 3 hours a day during the week for ~3 months and I listened to all the lectures, read the book, took notes, did ~2,000 MCQs and 100-150 Sims. I did all that per section.

W/ that said, do you feel that you are putting in enough efforts? I know some smarter people can just knock all these out in six months, but that doesn't mean everyone can do what those people did. Everyone's different and the required efforts to pass these will differ by each individual. What you did in the past clearly didn't get you past the passing score, so maybe it's time to step back and really look at the hours you are putting in and whether those hours are quality hours spent really learning what you are supposed to be learning.
